Overheard at #CES2022: Melissa Widen on the gender lending gap. Did you know that women are leading an economic revolution in the United States? The number of women-owned businesses is growing 2x faster than the national average, but there is a pervasive and persistent challenge – just as there are gender gaps in leadership and in pay, there is a gender gap in lending. First Women's Bank helps bridge that gap. As Melissa went on to say, "This is the moment for a bank that is focused on women. We're focused on financial inclusion for everyone, and are committed to equal access - to networks, resources, and most of all, capital. The women's economy needs it."

Overheard at #CES2022: Ayelet Mavor on #climatechange. Universal anxiety has been growing around the immense and irreversible impact of climate change. According to TIME magazine, “governments are pledging to slash greenhouse emissions to zero by 2050 and investments into renewable energy now account for 70% of funding for new electricity generation." In 2021, over 35% of the US labor force had at least one disability – up 4% from 2020. Join us in the #EqualityLounge at #CES2022 with Alexis Ander Kashar, Founder, RoseBYANDER, to learn how to create a more inclusive workplace culture for those with disabilities. Would you take menstrual leave if your employer offered it to you? As many as 14% of women globally have taken time off school or work due to their periods. Period policies have long been established in Asia - now the Catalan city of Girona will become the first in Spain to offer flexible work for employees experiencing period discomfort or pain. Employees can take up to eight hours a month, allowing the flexibility to shift their work schedule, and make up the time within the next three months. Here's to eliminating the shame and taboo often associated with periods, and creating workplaces for everyone to thrive!
