As a professional skier, especially during the Olympics, I’ve faced immense mental pressure and stress from high expectations and social media negativity, as outlined in this recent interview with The BBC. Whilst it may not be going for Olympic Gold, I understand that most people at some point in their career, whatever their goals, will have to cope with immense pressure to perform. Here are three key tips that have helped me to manage mental pressure and perform at my best: ✅ 1. Focusing on What I Can Control Concentrating on controllable factors like my day-to-day processes, mental visualization, training, and recovery. If I give my best and control what I can control, the rest I can’t and don’t put much weight into. Having preparatory routines helps to be confident in whatever it is you’re doing. ✅ 2. Developing a Strong Support System Surrounding myself with positive influences—family, friends, coaches, psychologist and teammates who uplift me. A strong support system provides encouragement and perspective for me during challenging times. ✅ 3. Practicing Self-Care Incorporating mindful practices into my routine. For some people that's meditation and breathing exercises but for me it’s just putting myself first. I prioritize doing things that make me happy whilst ensuring I am prepared as possible. Sometimes I need ice cream and law & order to reset! I hope this can help some of you. Wishing everyone facing challenges the strength to overcome and thrive. Let’s support one another and prioritize mental well-being. 💪

Ancient Wisdom for Modern Wealth (8 Stoic secrets to financial freedom) In a world of get-rich-quick schemes, true financial freedom lies in ancient wisdom. An age-old truth is that your mindset, not your paycheck, determines financial freedom. Stoicism, an ancient Greek philosophy, teaches us how to lead a life that balances achievement with purpose. Here's how you can apply Stoic fundamentals to thrive in an unpredictable world: 1/ Focus on what you can control.  ↳ Don't panic over fluctuating markets—control your spending, saving, and decisions. Example: During market downturns, focus on optimizing your budget instead of worrying. 2/ Embrace moderation.  ↳ True wealth isn't luxury—it's financial security and alignment with your values. Fact: 78% of millionaires attribute their wealth to living below their means. 3/ Think long-term.  ↳ Focus on future goals, and strategic patience beats short-term gains every time. Example: Invest in index funds & real estate for steady, long-term growth rather than chasing volatile stocks. 4/ Cultivate self-discipline.  ↳ Automate savings and avoid impulse purchases to stay consistent. Tip: Use the 30-day rule for big purchases to avoid impulsive spending. 5/ Prepare for uncertainty.  ↳ Build up an emergency fund and diversify your investments. Goal: Aim for 3-6 months of living expenses in your emergency fund. 6/ Value time over possessions.  ↳ Passive income buys time; material goods don't. Question: Would you rather have a luxury car or an extra hour each day to pursue your passions? 7/ Commit to learning.  ↳ Financial literacy grows as you grow.  Action: Dedicate 15-30 minutes daily to reading about personal finance or investing. 8/ See wealth as a means, not an end.  ↳ Money is a tool to build a legacy. Reflection: How can your wealth create a positive impact beyond your own life? These Stoic principles aren't just about money—they're about mastering your mind to master your finances. When you embrace these principles, you don't just build financial independence—you Design A Life Well-Lived. 💬 Which Stoic principle will you apply today to revolutionize your finances? A growth mindset makes you unstoppable - 12 habits to strengthen yours: 1) Embrace Challenges ↳Instead of avoiding them, see them as opportunities to stretch your abilities ↳Tip: Say yes to a new role or assignment even if you feel unprepared 2) Break Goals Up ↳Set learning goals like "practice for 10 minutes" instead of "be great" ↳Tip: Swap "Get in shape" for "Take a 15-minute walk each morning before work" 3) Change Your Self-Talk ↳Replace "I'm not good at this" with "I'm still learning this" ↳Tip: Write a list of things you've improved at in the past to prove your inner critic wrong 4) Choose Your People ↳Surround yourself with people who try, fail, and improve - vulnerably ↳Tip: Follow leaders who talk about their learning process, not just their wins 5) Focus on Progress ↳Track how far you've come, not how far you still have to go ↳Tip: Take weekly progress photos of a project, fitness routine, or hobby 6) Stay Curious ↳Ask more questions and seek to understand, not just to finish ↳Tip: Challenge yourself to ask at least one question in every meeting 7) Normalize Being Bad ↳Find things you're bad at and fail - a lot; it strengthens the growth muscle ↳Tip: Join a class where you're clearly the least experienced person 8) Seek Feedback ↳Ask for feedback often, and use it to grow, not to judge your worth ↳Tip: After a presentation, ask three people for one thing you can improve 9) Find Examples ↳Read or listen to stories of persistence, finding others who failed forward ↳Tip: Read biographies of people like Thomas Edison, Michael Jordan, or Oprah Winfrey 10) Add "Yet" ↳Turn "I can't do this" into "I can't do this YET" ↳Tip: Do it each time you notice a limiting belief: "I'm not good at sales...yet" 11) Learn From Mistakes ↳Instead of hiding or avoiding mistakes, see them as data ↳Tip: After a failed pitch, write down three lessons for next time 12) Reflect on Growth ↳Ask: "What did I learn today?" not just "Did I win today?" ↳Tip: In team retrospectives, focus on learnings over outcomes Your abilities are not fixed. You're not just bad at something. With the right habits, You can improve. And if you use these daily, You'll have no limits. Choose growth. Feeling stuck with your money? It might be time to change your mindset. Think of it like this: It’s not just a few doubts. It's like saying one minor setback means you're not cut out for financial success. Sure, those thoughts are common. But they don’t define your financial capability. Or should I say, your entire financial potential. Elements that reshape your financial mindset include: ☑️ Recognizing Limiting Beliefs: → Identifying thoughts like "I'm not good with money" or "It’s too complicated" that block your path to financial literacy. ☑️ Challenging Negativity: → Overcoming not just your own skepticism, but also the doubts others may feed you. ☑️ Setting Positive Affirmations: → Replace "I'll fix my finances... someday" with "I'm taking control of my finances today." ☑️ Seeking Knowledge and Tools: → Educate yourself about money management, debt reduction, and investing. ☑️ Embracing Financial Responsibility: → Shift from "Someone else will handle it" to "I'm capable of managing my money." ☑️ Planning for Immediate Action: → Instead of feeling overwhelmed, create a simple, actionable plan to start making changes. ☑️ Building a Support Network: → Surround yourself with financial mentors and positive influences. ☑️ Regularly Reviewing Your Financial Health: → Just as you would check a vital sign, keep tabs on your financial status. ☑️ Celebrating Small Victories: → Acknowledge every successful step you take towards better financial understanding. ☑️ Visualizing Success: → Keep your financial goals clear and visualize achieving them. Remember, it’s not just about shifting a few negative thoughts; it’s about transforming them into a powerful mindset that fuels your journey to financial freedom, Rather than letting old beliefs dictate your financial life like outdated rules in a forgotten playbook. P.S. Ready to unlock your financial superpower and live your dreams? Let's redefine what you believe about money and make it happen. ✨ Photo: courtesy of Tulum Jungle Gym.

The first time I saw this image I was a 30-year-old in my therapist's office. She asked me how I was feeling about a complicated issue. After several seconds of silence and a blank stare, she slid these words toward me. It was like a whole new language opened up for me to make sense of what was happening internally. Over a decade later, it is one of my most frequently used leadership and confidence-building coaching tools- yes, an emotions wheel. Some of my clients love it and have it hanging in their office. Some of them pause knowing it's time to get a little vulnerable. Many of them refer to it as the "emotional cheese wheel." (& Why do I make it such a common practice to stop and name your emotions? Somewhere along the line, we were taught to set our emotions aside in favor of data, logic or a "plan." Maybe we learned that feeling emotions means we are being dramatic. But in my experience, and research shows, the more we are able to accurately label our emotions, the more *in control* we feel. Emotions are data that give us clues as to what matters to us and what we care about. When we get granular about what emotions we are feeling below a broad label like "anxiety," we are able to identify WHY we are feeling them. For example, a client realized that by naming her emotions, she became clear on: ▫️ Anger: A boundary had been crossed and she needed to communicate that ▫️ Frustration: A courageous performance conversation needed to be had ▫️ Worry: Her delegation tactics needed tweaking so correct action would be taken ▫️ Inadequacy: Self-compassion would be helpful as she is back in "new role learning mode" Claiming and naming her emotions didn't give them power, it helped her reclaim confidence and power by creating internal clarity. Successful leaders are self-aware leaders. Have you used an emotions wheel and has it helped you? #womenleaders #confidence #careers #leadershipdevelopment

5 internal beliefs keeping you stuck at work. And how you can reframe them to make you more successful. 📈 ❌ “I am not qualified for my job. Eventually, I am going to be fired.” ✅ Rephrased: “I have a lot of learning to do to master my job, but I will succeed. My boss hired me knowing my current skills and believes I have the potential to grow.” ❌ “I am completely faking this. People are going to find out I’m a fraud.” ✅ Rephrased: “I am doing my best and everyone starts off a little nervous at first. And, I am getting positive feedback, so I am going in the right direction.” ❌ “I hate my job and I feel depressed, but no one else would hire me.” ✅ Rephrased: “I believe I am burnt out, which is affecting my mood and perception of my work. I need to advocate for a vacation or take sick days for self-care and then re-evaluate how I feel.” ❌ “People at work don’t respect me because I am useless.” ✅ Rephrased: “I am in a toxic workplace where no one is respected. This doesn’t represent my value as a person. It is time to find a new job.” ❌ “I am not smart enough to start my own business and gain financial freedom.” ✅ Rephrased: “With the right coach, mentor, and team, I can focus on my strengths and get the knowledge I need to start my own business. This will be challenging, but it is possible!” The original beliefs we have are called cognitive distortions. They aren’t based on facts. When we challenge them and look at the facts, we gain clarity, confidence, and a direction to move forward. I recommend sitting down for 20 minutes once a week to go through this process. 🤔 What are some cognitive distortions you are or have battled with? How did you overcome them? • Lately, I've stumbled upon a set of ideas that completely flipped my perspective on its head. It's this: opposing concepts can not only coexist but also fuel each other's power. 💥 Here's a breakdown of these seemingly contradictory ideas that have transformed my mindset: 1️⃣ Failure as My Teacher: I used to dread failure, but now I see it as a stepping stone. Every stumble is a lesson learned, pushing me closer to my goals. 2️⃣ Fear as My Fuel: Ambition and fear aren't enemies. Fear can actually ignite my drive and make me plan more strategically. 3️⃣ Doubts as My Compass: Certainty is great, but doubts are essential too. They challenge my assumptions and lead to better decisions. 4️⃣ Anxiety as My Courage Booster: Courage isn't the absence of fear; it's taking action despite it. Now, I use anxiety as a sign that I care deeply, fueling my bravery. 5️⃣ Rest as My Secret Weapon: Work and rest aren't opposing forces. Rest is like refueling my energy tank for maximum productivity. 6️⃣ Confidence Meets Humility: I'm confident in my abilities, but I also recognize there's always more to learn. It's a balance that keeps me grounded and open to growth. 7️⃣ Passion Meets Patience: I'm all in on my goals, but I've learned to temper my enthusiasm with patience. Great things take time, and trust me, the journey is just as rewarding as the destination. These ideas have not only shifted my mindset but have also led to real, tangible improvements in my life and work. What about you? Have you encountered any mindset shifts that have had a major impact on your journey? Share your thoughts in the comments – I'd love to hear them! #mindset #personaldevelopment #growth #success #leadership #resilience

Throughout my flying career, I was surrounded by the greatest fighter pilots in the world. I felt privileged to learn and fly with them, but I often felt out of my element. As I joined these high performing teams, my inner critic regularly told me I wasn't good enough, which made me hesitate and second-guess how I showed up. Luckily, I learned that self-doubt wasn't a reflection of my potential, but an emotion to acknowledge. Here's what I discovered along the way: 💡 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 - an internal narrative. Once you learn to recognize and challenge these thoughts, you open doors to new possibilities. You'll find yourself taking on challenges you previously thought impossible, leading to: • Increased confidence • Career advancement • A sense of fulfillment 💡 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝘀𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹. Start by keeping a thought journal for a week: • Write down any negative self-talk you notice. • Look for patterns like "I'm not good enough" or "I'll probably fail." • Challenge these thoughts by looking at the evidence. Often, you'll find these beliefs aren't based on facts. 💡 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵. When faced with a challenging task, instead of thinking, "I can't do this," try, "This is a chance to learn something new." • Set small, achievable goals related to the challenge. • Acknowledge small victories. • Seek feedback from trusted colleagues and mentors to gain new perspectives. Remember, just like I learned to trust my abilities in the cockpit, you too can overcome self-doubt. It's a journey, but with each step, you're building the confidence. << What advice would you give for someone dealing with crippling self-doubt? >> ------------------------ Hi, I'm Michelle. I'm a former fighter pilot turned speaker, author, and coach. If you found this helpful, consider reposting ♻️ and follow me for more content like this.

Here’s a secret to help you supercharge your networking. Stop trying to hit home runs with every touch point. Instead, focus on small wins that move the conversation forward. I see so many people making big / vague asks up front: “Can you hop on a 30 minute call?” “Tell me how you accomplished [Big Thing].” These people are super busy and they’re receiving this email from you - a total stranger. The last thing they want is another item on their to do list. Instead, start with a small, simple ask that they can reply to in <30 seconds. Here’s a formula that's been really effective for me: “Hey [Name], your experience in [Industry] is really impressive. I know you're busy, but I just had to ask: If you had to start over and work your way back to [Insert Achievement], would you do A or B? A: [Insert Actionable Thing] B: [Insert Other Actionable Thing]” This formula makes is incredibly easy for them to say "I'd do A" or "I'd do B." Now the door is open! Go do thing A or thing B, get results, and report back. Let this person know you took their advice and then ask for more. This positions you as someone who values their advice and has an action bias -- someone worth investing in. That's going to lead to deeper conversations and stronger relationships!

Your career isn’t stuck. Your mindset might be. Shift these 10 beliefs, everything changes. 👇 Visuals by the incredibly talented Maria Luisa Engels – make sure to follow her for more inspiration! 10 Mindset Shifts That Can Elevate Your Career Many of us get caught in the traditional career playbook. But the truth? Growth isn’t linear. Every day presents lessons—we just need the right mindset to see them. Here are 10 shifts I wish I had embraced earlier: ✅ Self-awareness and continuous learning fuel real growth. ✅ Success isn’t about perfection—it’s about perseverance. ✅ Action is the bridge between dreams and reality. It's never too late to embrace these lessons: 1️⃣ Find a mentor—don’t go it alone. ↳ A trusted guide can help you navigate the twists and turns. ↳ Growth accelerates when you learn from those ahead of you. 2️⃣ Communication isn’t just about speaking. ↳ What you say isn’t always what they hear. ↳ Clarity matters, but so does intentional listening. 3️⃣ Great leaders inspire—they don’t just instruct. ↳ Influence is built on vision, not micromanagement. ↳ Invest in people, not just productivity. 4️⃣ Success is messy behind the scenes. ↳ Every “overnight success” has years of effort behind it. ↳ Fall in love with the process, not just the end result. 5️⃣ Procrastination quietly drains your potential. ↳ The hardest part is starting—momentum does the rest. ↳ Small steps lead to big shifts. 6️⃣ Discomfort is where growth thrives. ↳ Fear isn’t a stop sign—it’s a doorway. ↳ Lean into challenges, and you’ll discover new strengths. 7️⃣ The right fit matters more than forced effort. ↳ Struggling in the wrong place isn’t success. ↳ Alignment unlocks true momentum. 8️⃣ Change isn’t about wishing—it’s about doing. ↳ Big dreams require bold action. ↳ Stop waiting, start building. 9️⃣ Failure isn’t final—stagnation is. ↳ Every setback is a setup for growth. ↳ Get up. Keep going. Learn from it. 🔟 Lifelong learning is your greatest advantage. ↳ Knowledge is limitless—so is your potential. ↳ Stay curious. Keep evolving. Which of these shifts has made the biggest impact on your journey?  Drop your thoughts in the comments! ♻️ Repost to help make these mind shifts. ➕ I post every day at 9:30am EST.
