We're dropping 2 huge updates for Mozart AI today...Bedroom producers, this ones for you! 1. Audio to Midi (experimental) - Convert any generated or uploaded audio to midi without losing the source sound sample 🎹! Export the midi to your favourite DAWs, or use our TAB models to create and extend midi notes 🎶 2. SynthGen - Describe any instrument or synth, e.g "wobble bass", "LFO lead with reverb", and we generate it for you in seconds. Layer upto 4 generated synths and create sounds that don't exist today! Use this with converted midi or connect your own midi keyboards - the possibilities are endless 🥳 These 2 features have insane synergy, here's a beat + rap I whipped up in 5 minutes to show how powerful this level of control is 🥶

Music tech marketing consultant and founder at AudioCipher Technologies, a DAW plugin company.

Here's a quick demo comparing AI accompaniment from Suno Studio and Mozart AI using the same sample. 🎶 For those who missed the announcement, Suno officially launched their AI DAW near the end of last week. This is the result of their acquisition of WavTool. I used an audio sample from the AudioCipher Technologies collection as my starting point. Then I prompted Suno and Mozart for the same kind of stems, including drum and bass percussion, female vocals, and dreamy fingerstyle electric guitar. 🎹 MIDI option with Mozart AI Both Suno and Mozart support recording audio into their AI DAW. But Mozart's piano roll and MIDI controller is a key product differentiator, at least for now. I spent zero time mixing or adjusting the synth tone on their default virtual instrument, so the MIDI track sounds a bit tinny. Still, I appreciate that I could jump in and workshop melodies directly in their DAW. 💰 Cost comparison for AI stem generation Mozart AI is currently free for near unlimited use. Their pricing page does indicate that there's a "higher limits" option coming soon. Suno consumes ten credits to generate a stem, regardless of the length. Users get ~10,000 credits for $30/mo which means it's around $0.03 per stem. 🐞 Bugs, bugs, and more bugs Suno Studio has been struggling with basic hot keys for me, like command + V for pasting audio clips on the timeline. I got it to work occasionally but couldn't figure out how to get it perform consistently. There are also numerous alignment issues. The guitar, vocals and string stems in this demo were rendered in a way that did align with the chord progression, but not on the initial down beat. I had to drag them around manually. Adjusting clips to match the reference track seemed to work in most cases, but it results in an awkward moment of silence during the opening beats. Drums were probably the least performant in Suno - the BPM was correctly set at the project level but it consistently generated clips in the wrong tempo. I've highlighted this in the demo. 🤔 Is a browser DAW the best medium for creativity? These two AI DAWs both represent an insane technological accomplishment, and it's quite easy to stand here on the sideline nit picking small details. There's no question that this layout is an improvement on the vertical list and single-track editors that we get from Udio and ElevenLabs. Still, we're missing rudimentary features like panning. Also, WavTool had a VST bridge that let me connect my plugins, but Suno and Mozart have not added that yet. Given these limitations, musicians may have to export stems one at a time and bring them back into their own DAW. It would be more convenient to have a standalone app that supports dragging-and-dropping clips. On the other hand, Suno's Mikey Schulman has explained that he's making an app for a billion people. So maybe DAW integration won't matter to their target customer base in the end...

I played around with Mozart AI. I like their take on generative music. They’re building an AI-powered DAW. The AI doesn’t take over the joy of creation, like more automated products (Suno, Udio). Rather, it’s a sort of sparring partner. It throws out musical ideas, suggests sounds, but the musician stays in the driver’s seat. These are the things I like the most: 1. AI as an augmentation tool 2. Native AI 3. More than a plugin -> a simplified DAW (think BandLab, but AI powered) 4. Targeting prosumers 5. Bold project, that could build a nice moat I’d love to see more startups position generative AI as an ally for musicians. I think creators are now ready to embrace this kind of technology. Unfortunately, I suspect we’ll keep seeing endless Suno copycats, built by founders often oblivious to real market needs, chasing the mythical 8–9 figure VC raise. — 💼 Check my music tech advisor service: https://lnkd.in/divEFrTA 📩 Follow my content: https://lnkd.in/d7MPrPQT #GenAI #AIMusic #ACEStep #GenerativeMusci

Fastest Exited Founder in Europe | AI Builder

Woke up yesterday and decided to become an exited founder. We did the unthinkable. Before last weekend, we set ourselves an ambitious goal: could we build, launch, and sell a real company in a 20-hour sprint at a hackathon? We believed that moving fast and taking big risks is how you leave a mark - and we proved it. Over 20 companies and angels backed us. We got acquired by a bold risk-taker Brian Walker who literally flew to Stockholm with his wife to meet a bunch of geeks from London. the20hr.co is now officially acquired by REVEL. How unreasonable was this? Well, we incorporated a legal UK entity and then sold the company with a stock transfer agreement. We believe this might be world's fastest ever incorporation to transaction. We made noise. We got people talking. And we’ve set a new benchmark for what’s possible when Europe’s builders go all-in. Massive thanks to everyone who backed us, we've made history today, and to my cracked teammates who stayed up with me for 30+ hours: Charlie Cheesman Henry Allen Leo Camacho Luke Tervit Let’s try to build even better. And faster.
