Well done and thank you to 18 of our Townsville team members who rolled up their sleeves to give the lifesaving gift of plasma at the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood donor centre this week. Plasma, the yellowish liquid part of blood, can be used in 18 different life-giving ways. "Accidents, chemotherapy and births don't take a break over the festive season and - neither does the need for blood," advises the Lifeblood team. "Around 135,000 donations are needed in December." It's a simple gift to give this holiday season. You'll even receive a limited-edition festive bandage and a tasty treat.

Great to see Australian team members Paul Sullivan and Christian O'Connor representing us on the Cubic Defense booth at I/ITSEC in Orlando, along with Mark Horn. Paul and Christian are talking about our enhanced personal area network (EPAN) soldier kits. The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) is the world's largest modelling, simulation and training event. Cubic has signed a memorandum of understanding to partner and collaborate with the North Queensland Simulation Park (NQ Spark), which is now operating from an interim facility in Townsville. Our team was excited to work with Spark and James Cook University to support the first experiment at the centre, a disaster response command and control scenario. Images (clockwise from top): Cubic's Mark Horn, NQ Spark Chair, Lieutenant General (retired) John Caligari AO, DSC, and NQ Spark Executive Director and JCU Professor, Mick R., outside the interim NQ Spark facility; JCU students and observer trainers participate in a disaster response scenario at the interim facility; and Mark Horn and LTGEN John Caligari acknowledge the signing of a memorandum of understanding between NQ Spark and Cubic. #NQSpark #simulation #NorthQueensland #Townsville

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month holds special significance. The moment when hostilities ceased on the Western Front has become universally associated with the remembrance of those who have died in conflict. Thank you to all who have served and continue to serve in defence of our nations. We are grateful for your service and sacrifice. #remembranceday #veterans

Industry conferences and trade shows provide a rich learning experience for our team members as well as a chance to network and build connections. We've enjoyed booth visits from our Sydney-based members supporting naval programs who were interested to hear about our work with the Army and Air Force. Team members visiting for customer meetings have also been exposed to our broader programs, as well as other organisations supporting Defence. Thanks Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition.
