Working Towards Growth: Infosys Canada as a Great Place To Work

After 6 months as an associate, it comes as no surprise that Infosys Canada has been bestowed with the title of Great Place To Work. Driven by a culture of continuous learning and creative application of that knowledge, the honor truly echoes my feelings.

 When I first attended the Infosys Career Readiness Workshop during my last semester at Concordia University, the thing that stood out most was the philosophy and culture that Infosys operates with. Their presentation introduced me to their world of innovative services and focus on professional development. The emphasis they laid on continuous learning and the creative application of that knowledge for problem-solving attracted me instantly, and at the end of my graduation, I was chosen as an associate with the IVS Business Unit in Canada. As a person inquisitive by nature, the fit was perfect. And soon, I was certain I had made the right move.

 There are many reasons an organization earns the GPTW title, but in my opinion, it’s primarily the endless opportunities for growth that have done it for Infosys Canada. By making significant investments in their employees, providing them with the tools and education required to chart their career paths and grow into positions they desire, Infosys has time and again proven that people come first. I’ve gained a great deal of knowledge and experience through training programs which have significantly broadened my understanding of new technologies that shape our services and further our digital transformation.

From my first day here, I have experienced open and transparent communication at all levels of the organization, allowing me to engage with others freely and clearly understand the expectations the company has from me. It’s this and the fact that they actively seek feedback from employees that truly sets our culture apart. By encouraging employees to embody an entrepreneurial spirit, ask pertinent questions, work both independently and collaboratively, learn new skills, and take initiative when needed, working at Infosys is essentially working towards your growth while the organization grows with you.

 The icing on the cake is that Infosys also offers employees carefully considered mentoring programs and tools that are accessible to everyone. Not only does this create a welcoming and approachable environment, but also provides us with timely advice on how to tackle any problems we might face, right from time management to advancing our careers. With clearly defined channels to seek assistance, I was able to reach out to the right resources every time I needed to.

 With the advent of the pandemic, Infosys adapted to our new normal by shifting its onboarding process from in-person to virtual, with minimal disruption. I was encouraged to learn about new technologies, compete in contests to test my knowledge, and attend events to be inspired by new ideas, a convincing demonstration of Infosys' ability to adapt and its commitment to creating positive employee experiences. With this future-focused approach to problem-solving at our core, it gives me great pride to work for a company that takes an equitable, sustainable approach and is willing to invest in the growth of its employees. Explains why so many of us love our careers at Infosys.
