Not to forget there is data services tool for non sap environment etl mechanism which comes with sap bo enterprise ... On frontend tool, there is webi, lumira etc. There are a lot of factor to consider on the solution point of view as in order to roll out a project, there must be a greenlight from multiple non IT stakeholders. The practicality, cost effectiveness, alternatives and adoption need to come in place or seek precedence over technology at times. But I do agree that the power of speed in hana is needed if an organization desire to invest in uncovering the potential business insights from the pool of data they have.

Maybe from the bi strategy point of view, mixed approach will be hard to support, govern and costly to transition fully into the hana whilst justifying the roi and developing the in-house skillets. It will take a while for full transitioning into the sql approach.
