Opportunity for young storytellers! #GenGeo
Your stories matter, and they are particularly important during this time. Life during COVID-19 has revealed how deeply connected we are as a global community and the heartbreaking deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, David McAtee and George Floyd underscore the history of violence, racism, and injustice in the U.S., which has sparked an international movement. Many are taking this time to show solidarity and inclusion within their community, to address humanity and connection, and to take time to care for one another. Most importantly, young people are mobilizing and leading the fight for change.
In our commitment to support young people this summer who are exploring new ways of learning and connecting, we’re excited to invite you to a special edition of Explorer Classroom: Photo Camp Live, which brings the magic of National Geographic’s Photo Camp program directly to you in new and engaging ways. Starting June 19th, join us every Friday at 2 p.m. EDT for a live 1-hour session with National Geographic photographers to learn about storytelling and the ways that you can continue to capture your unique story through photography. Each week we will announce a new photo assignment for you to participate in. You can post about your experience using #PhotoCampLive on Instagram. You can also submit up to three photos taken during your assignment for a National Geographic photographer to review and to potentially have your work featured in the next broadcast!
We hope you’re able to join us during these weekly sessions. If you are interested in taking part, please register via this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf1RYetu6RKn2lKjEn4rpcKcmCytsDfJYbgDe3ysBzad7K33w/viewform
