My Infosys journey

I am one of large group of Infosys employees based in Toronto Canada. My current role is Infosys Client Relationship Manager for one of Infosys clients, a major US insurance company. I joined Infosys in August 2020, so I am still a pretty new ‘Infoscion’. On a side note, I like the term ‘Infoscion,’ which is coined and widely used in the company communications.

I brought to Infosys 15 years of project management experience in the information technology field with a major Canadian financial institution where I was progressively managing more and more complex initiatives, going from small team efforts to projects of multimillion budgets with multiple globally located project teams and visible organizational impact. My professional interests always were around new technologies, new initiatives, new teams, meeting new colleagues and learning all the way

Several of my projects included dealing with Infosys as a vendor, partner and service provider. This is how I became aware of Infosys’ variety of services, platforms and capabilities. So, when the time came for my next career move, Infosys was obviously on the list of my interests.

It turned out to be a good move for me, very much in line with my interests and professional goals. In my first six month I got to deep dive into one of Infosys hosted services engagements in the U.S. New colleagues across the globe, new faces, voices, stories, holidays, and traditions.

All of my initial steps and ‘meet and greet’ events are still happening online, because of COVID-19 restrictions, so I am definitely looking forward to times when travel is open again and I get to meet my colleagues in person. The cultural diversity is amazing. Just look at my team calendar with Canada, U.S. and India holidays marked on it. There is always a bit of discovery in every chat we have on daily topics. We cook, dress, celebrate differently, but we come together as a team to solve and to deliver. Global village at its best.   

If you like learning new things as much as I do – Infosys is a place for you. I was greatly impressed by the company’s online learning platform, where you will find up to date online courses for any modern technology, cutting edge topic you can think of. Learning, development, certification in new skills are very much encouraged and promoted with daily invites in your inbox to events, presentations, seminars. I think of young folks looking to be in leading IT organizations of tomorrow. Infosys will certainly be a great place to start your career and to grow at. The abundance of learning opportunities and experiences is amazing. Great opportunities for seasoned professionals, too. Infosys definitely is a friendly, diverse, and energetic company.
