Hong Kong's EcoLivable City "Green is Golden" Belt and Road Opportunity
“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
― R. Buckminster Fuller
“All of that is calming, all of that brings us back with nature,” he says.
Architects just don’t have the flexibility to embrace it.

Great to see that at least some architects and engineers are beginning to step up to the #Asynsis #EcoLivable City Initiative plate in #HongKong.
What's really needed though (rather than more of what is often just literal "green window-dressing" of individual buildings and only tackling the low hanging fruit of sustainable design - usually due to inadequate industry financial models), is a "First Principles" Elon Musk-scale "Whole City #EcoSystem" design solution - a HK #GreenNewDeal to diversify our entire economy, tapping #GreenFinance while innovating and deploying #GreenTech to gift our moribund economy a new export industry, novel revenue streams and a much-needed Mojo-boost.
This is the best way for us to compete with Singapore while aligning with and leveraging our Super-Connector role in the China #BeltAndRoad initiative, one which has huge potential for Hong Kong, especially if it follows our EcoLivable City innovation and diversification roadmap and model - and then rolls it out all around developing Asia, the Middle-East, Africa and beyond.
So we offer our recent EcoLivable City references, EcoLivable roadmap Op-Ed and String of Pearls/HarbourLoop Renewables-powered, Carbon-offset, Green-financed Decarbonising pilot-project "pathfinder" urban design initiative for Hong Kong and the PRD - as shared on #TED:
