I love food, spices, travelling and exploring other cultures etc but what do YOU love? Is it sports, music, cars, motorbikes, drawing, painting, playing your Playstation, whatever? What is it? That thing you'd prefer to be doing right now?

Whatever it is, with the way modern technology is now, ANYBODY, can create a business based around their passion, it literally costs you ZERO to download Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Pinterest etc and create a company page. You've literally got a studio in your pocket to create anything you want. Think about it man.

If you dread Monday mornings (I did for 17 years until I launched Diablo Seasonings Ltd in November!) and cannot wait for the weekends, you're going to spend a big percentage of your entire life doing something everyday that doesn't fill you with joy and put a smile on your face. I think that's insane.Everybody has heard the phrase 'do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life' but not many people actually go for it. If you're happy in your job, amazing, you've already won! If not though, why not build something in your spare time based around what you love? You could literally create a podcast about football using the free Anchor Podcast App, or why not upload pics of your art to Pinterest with a view to printing them onto canvasses, or what about the classic car shows you love, maybe you could write a blog about cars, whatever it is, the opportunity to build it, is literally sitting in your pocket on the 8-10 apps that we use daily.

It took me 18 months of saving £150 a month, before I bought my website, and inventory for my business. In that time I was writing about food on the Diablo Seasonings Instagram and Facebook pages, attending food shows, constantly watching cooking shows and generally increasing my knowledge around my passion of spices and food, whilst building the company structure and generally planning. Doing this between June 2018-Nov 2019, not only gave me time to fully process in my head, what I needed to do, to make this work, but it also helped me to gain audience and followers, so that I could hit the ground running as soon as I launched. Which has proved to be a shrewd move, as from the first month of launching, it is already paying my bills.

One of the most useful things I did, was to audit my outgoings during this time and make a few sacrifices. No more fast cars, hence less spent on fuel, insurance, tax. Sold the things in my house which I felt were holding me back a little (due to me overindulging my time in them) such as guitars, games consoles, sports subscriptions etc. Deleting these from my outgoings just gradually made it easier and easier, for me to quit traditional work and pursue what I love to do. I also made a point to pay off my credit cards and any loans I had. I did all of this with pure patience, to get myself into a position where fear could not hold me back and I could go on the offensive.

Don't spend your life doing something that you don't love, life is way too short to be spending such a big % of your life unhappy. If you want me to share my list of apps that I use, how often I post, etc. I will literally copy and paste it into an email for you no strings attached at all I promise, it took me years to work it all out but I will literally send you it, I don't want anything in return. If it even helps one person to start building, I'll be happy.
