Energized Employee: Use Positive Self-Talk
Are you consistently stressed professionally or personally? One way to deal with stress is to use positive self-talk. We all talk to ourselves in our heads. The things we say can be positive ("I can do this") or negative ("I don’t deserve it").
Negative self-talk can increase the stress we feel, while being positive can help us feel calm and give us a boost. Begin giving yourself a boost and today practice replacing negative self-talk with these positive sayings:
• Change "I can't do this" to "I'll do the best I can".
• Change "Everything is going wrong" to "I can handle anything if I take it one step at a time".
• Change "I hate it when this happens" to "I know how to deal with this. I've done it before".
