Year 2019 was one of the most successful years in DCN history. And everything THANKS to you, our members, volunteers, partners, speakers, sponsors, and believers. We are digital geeks, evangelists, pioneers, explorers, futurists — shaping the future together. 

With your support, we have grown from the exchange program into the global network; we are more mature and self-sufficient.

📌In 2019, we organized five significant international Events — Digital Influencers in Action in Budva, Montenegro, Rockit Conference in Chisinau, Moldova, Humor, and Games in Yerevan, Armenia, Media Literacy Solutions in Minsk, Belarus, Digital Storytelling in Sofia. Bulgaria. More than 1300 digital geeks and communicators from 45+ countries and five continents attended these events.

📌 We have sent two groups of journalists and innovators, to the United States for Exchange program run by the State Department, they had short fellowships in prominent U.S. organizations, companies, media outlets.

📌We organized meetups in Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Bosnia, Georgia, Moldova. We got the new leadership of local communities in Georgia, Armenia, and Moldova elected with our magic app VoteMe.App.

📌We have created Influencers Hub Moldova and launched the DCN Southeast Europe Hub in Thessaloniki. I am personally very excited about it. I hope we will manage to create something for Ukraine and Baltics (Belarus, Lithuanian, Latvia, Estonia) next year.

📌We began a strategic collaboration with the U.S. Agency for Global Media - USAGM. We co-organized training for journalists in Yerevan, and several training planned for 2020 in different parts of the world. We will work more closely on digital transformation.

📌Our Slovenian members from Today is a New Day  localized some of their great projects into other languages and launched MVP for Commentality and News Gradient.

📌We are thankful to our wonderful friends and partners especially Globsec, TechSoup, Prague Civil Society Centre, Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit, European Endowment For Democracy, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Facebook and Google, Well Agency, Publishit magazine, Outriders, College of Europe in Natolin, Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, U.G. "Zašto ne", Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Global Engagement Center, Forset, Forum Apulum, and many others.

📌We attended or spoke at Personal Democracy Forum CEE in Poland, Point Conference in Bosnia, MEGAPHONE 2019 in Hungary, DataFest Tbilisi in Georgia, Lviv Media Forum and Future of Freedom in Ukraine, Online News Association Conference in USA, CampCamp in Moldova, Forum 2000 in Czech Republic, «Business of Truth» in Kenya, and many others.

📌We have finalized the report on 500 digital influencers from 27 countries, which took six months of hard work of three international teams. We have presented this report in Brussels, Washington, and many European countries. We have given this paper to Assistant Secretary of State Marie Royce.

📌We also have created Media Literacy Map, where we have collected, with our partners, the data on different initiatives and media literacy projects around the globe 👉 https://medialiteracymap.org

📌Our sister organization — Digital Communication Network Africa — is growing, and we are very close to getting another sister entity in Asia. We expanded our European operation on Turkey, Israel, and Malta. Digital Communication Network is getting global.
