February was designated as Black History Month by The Honourable Jean Augustine in 1995. In this its 25th year, the 2021 theme for Black History Month in Canada is: "The Future is Now". Walmart Canada extends our best wishes to our customers and associates as Canada celebrates with festivities and events that honour the legacy of Black Canadians and their communities. At Walmart Canada, we will be celebrating with four associate events throughout the month: - “Black History Matters” a fireside chat with The Honourable Jean Augustine and Nabeela Ixtabalan, EVP People and Corporate Affairs. - “Understanding Anti-Black Racism” a webinar presented by Dean Delpeche, DEI Program Lead at George Brown College. - “Lean Conversations” Walmart Canada will join the Walmart USA field speaker series featuring Felicity Tyson – Director, Market Leader, Walmart Canada - “Unprecedented Leadership” Walmart Canada will join Walmart USA’s Black and African American Associate Resource Group - Keynote Donna Brazile For more information on Black History Month in Canada visit: https://bit.ly/39F5ECA #thisisthatplace #diversityinclusion #blackhistorymonth2021
