The ‘C’ in #vGHC is for celebration. Here are my #takeaways from Day 4 of AnitaB.org's #vGHC21 ✨ TL;DR: #Disability sparks #innovation. Ask questions to yourself to choose opportunities that would benefit you. Be authentic in your career. Use strategies to keep your code clear 💜 The day started off with Jeanne Sparrow and Ambassador Susan Rice describing how policies are implemented and the use of tech in the formulation along with women in tech stats Disability is an opportunity for innovation. She described her whole life experience right from university and the amount of effort she has to put in for tasks makes me so motivated. All power to Haben Girma Deborah Liu and Vidya S. mentioned questions that we should ask ourselves during our career. Like what are we hoping to accomplish from your career journey? What is your superpower? What defines you? Answering all these would help us to find the right opportunity that connects with you. Next up was a panel discussion with Melody Biringer, Vidya S., Tammarrian Rogers, Cynthia Tee, Nick Peddy which shares how women can negotiate, navigate, and neutralize situations with more confidence Caroline A. Wanga shares how stories of career journeys can be imperfect. We should #Dare To architect your authenticity on the path to your purpose. Diane Jurgens (戴安娜) said “When it’s not working for you and you’ve given it your all, having the courage to move on is also important”. Her keynote emphasized on creating the career you want and #Dare to dream boldly. As concepts like modularity, abstraction, and encapsulation can become eroded over time in an active codebase, Hannah Reed and Lanae Blethen Kawa shared strategies on how to keep our code clean and presentable. With this, I attended a few 1:1 meetings and hopped onto sponsor booths and wrapped up my day 4 at the vGHC! #msftstudentambassadors #microsoftlearnstudentambassador #dareto #vghc2021
