UNICEF Supply’s Post

Today saw the successful conclusion of the last in a series of thematic workshops of the Humanitarian Leadership Group on Supply Chain (HLGSC), held at the UNICEF Global Supply Hub in Copenhagen.    Convened by the European Commission’s DG ECHO EU in Emergencies, and co-led by UNICEF, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies - IFRC, and Danish Refugee Council / Dansk Flygtningehjælp, the event brought together representatives from the private, public, academic and humanitarian sectors. Participants co-developed a vision for future-ready humanitarian supply chains, and practical recommendations focused on boosting preparedness, and strengthening ownership in national systems.    The outcomes of this series of thematic HLGSC workshops will inform a high-level meeting to be held in Brussels in December, aimed at securing commitments to strengthen humanitarian supply chains to deliver faster, fairer and more effective support to crisis-affected communities.
