📶 98% of schools in Moldova are now connected to the #internet. But that’s just the beginning. The internet has transformed how we learn, teach, and connect, yet millions of children around the world remain offline. Globally, 1 in 3 people still lack access to the internet, limiting students’ ability to use digital tools, access quality education, and reach their full potential. In #Moldova, things are changing. 👏 Thanks to joint efforts by the Government, #UNICEFMoldova, ITU, and partners through the Giga initiative, over 98% of schools around 1,200 institutions are now online. And the goal is clear: 100% connectivity by 2027. But connectivity alone is not enough. Real digital transformation means reliable internet access, #safe online environments for children, digital skills and support for teachers and learning resources that reflect children’s needs. 💡 That’s why #UNICEFMoldova, together with the Ministry of Education and the Global Partnership for Education, is going further: - 10,000+ teachers are strengthening their digital skills through the DigiProf initiative;   - 140 schools are now equipped with interactive whiteboards and computers;   - 10 general education textbooks are being digitalized;   - Every school’s connectivity can now be tracked on the Giga Map.  Through the national programme "Digital Innovations in the Education System of Moldova", we’re ensuring that every child no matter where they live can learn, grow, and dream in a connected world. 🎯  Because the internet is not a luxury.
