"When I met my son, he felt like a stranger." – Basheera, Sami’s mother. After his parents’ divorce, the loss of his father, and the destruction of his home, 9-year-old Sami returned to his mother, sad and struggling to cope. With support from UNICEF’s mental health and psychosocial services, Sami is now smiling, learning, and reconnecting with his world.
