UNICEFinSyria’s Post

"When I met my son, he felt like a stranger." – Basheera, Sami’s mother. After his parents’ divorce, the loss of his father, and the destruction of his home, 9-year-old Sami returned to his mother, sad and struggling to cope. With support from UNICEF’s mental health and psychosocial services, Sami is now smiling, learning, and reconnecting with his world. This #WorldMentalHealthDay, we’re reminded that healing is possible, with the right support. Since January 2025, UNICEF has reached over 75,000 children and 60,000 caregivers across Syria, helping families rebuild lives with care, connection, and hope. 💚 Read Sami’s story   https://bit.ly/46NfD6A   #UNICEFSyria #MentalHealthMatters #ForEveryChild Meritxell Relaño Arana UN in Syria
