Every girl has a right to a safe childhood, free from harm. In Mali, 14-year-old Mariam found strength in her friend and in her school, which helped protect her from the dangers of female genital mutilation (FGM). This is her story.

Education and support is the best future you can offer these children and the hope for the future. Thanks to UNICEF for providing support and hope for the less fortunate children of our broken world. Support UNICEF Ireland and your own country's representative org. Governments of the world have cut contributions to the UN in favor of arm's deals. not employed or a past employee of UNICEF. My comments alone.

A powerful and important statement! Protecting the safety and well-being of children, especially girls, is crucial for their development, education, and future opportunities. Ensuring a safe childhood free from harm is a fundamental human right that requires collective effort and commitment from families, communities, and societies as a whole.
