Children make up more than half of the deaths in the devastating earthquake that hit eastern Afghanistan over a month ago. The lives of children like nine-year-old Hakim have changed forever. UNICEF is responding by providing essential supplies, including setting up child-friendly spaces where children can be children again. Donate and support children like Hakim in Afghanistan: https://lnkd.in/gp3fuNXH

My heart breaks 💔 whenever I hear kids express from the dept of their hearts, the fear, trauma, and dreams they face after disaster and emergency events. These kids (victims) in Afghanistan will have to go through the pain of not seeing their friends anymore. Look at the video; these kids risk living with a form of trauma if not checked. Disasters cause Mental Health issues in Child Development. UNICEF has confirmed this. I am critical and concerned about Crisis and Emergency Response matters; not only the aftermath, but the preparedness towards crisis. Heartbreaking to see how disasters so deeply affect children. Rebuilding their sense of safety and normalcy is just as vital as rebuilding homes.

How can we turn solidarity into a guarantee of a future for Afghanistan's children? In the face of devastating losses, each Afghan child embodies the possibility of a new beginning, even when everything seems to fall apart. Beyond providing supplies, the presence of psychological support teams brings hope and rebuilds interrupted dreams. It is time to believe that children's resilience shapes the future, and that each act of kindness ignites real change. As Afghanistan rebuilds, we are called to persevere for generations who still have so much to live for.

Dear Sir/Madam, We have established Zainab Clinic & Maternity Home in Bahawalnagar, Punjab — a backward area badly affected by poverty and floods. We aim to provide free normal deliveries and C-sections to deserving women with your organization’s support. Please review the attached proposal; your contribution can help us begin this life-saving initiative.

When the ground shakes, it is often children’s dreams that crumble first. Yet in every tent, in every child-friendly space, hope is being rebuilt one smile, one lesson, one gentle hand at a time. The work of UNICEF reminds us that restoring childhood is as urgent as rebuilding walls. Every act of kindness counts.
