UNICEF Timor-Leste’s Post

INDDICA and UNICEF are hosting a Youth Consultation on the ASEAN Regional Plan of Action (RPA) on Children in the Context of Migration.  Twenty-five young people, including students migrating from Municipalities to Dili—are taking part in detailed discussions to review challenges and lessons learnt to improve services such as psychosocial support, social protection, health, nutrition, education, WASH, etc. which help make the migration processes smoother. This consultation focuses on five key areas including strengthening: Accessibility to Child Protection System, Accessibility to basic services (like quality healthcare, education, and psychosocial support services), The evidence base on the situation of children in the context of migration, Capacity of relevant Actors, And Networking and Partnership with ASEAN member states and other international organizations. The inputs from these discussions will be crucial for the ASEAN RPA Mid-Term Review and help define priority action areas for the remaining period (2026–2030) of the RPA. Timor-Leste's strong support for children affected by migration is helping to shape better policies and support the new National Action Plan to End Violence Against Children. ©UNICEF Timor-Leste/2025/JTalimeta #UNICEF #foreverychild
