She also announces the start of the Youth-led Mental Health Audio Challenge—an initiative that UNICEF is implementing in partnership with Spotify, using digital platforms to raise awareness and reduce stigma around mental health in Timor-Leste. Tomorrow marks the start of a truly historic week for mental health. For the first time ever, mental health will be at the top of the UN agenda. We’re here for #UNGA80 and I am speaking on #mentalhealth at the High-Level Meeting on NCDs and Mental Health. More than 160 governments are expected to make statements on mental health - something that has never happened before. We want to see as many as governments as possible share not only why mental health matters, but also what steps they will take to ensure everyone, everywhere, has access to the support they need. We'll be sharing updates as the week unfolds. And organising a high profile side event with Wellcome Trust World Health Organization and UNICEF Follow United for Global Mental Health and Global Mental Health Action Network to stay up to date on this unprecedented moment for global mental health. #UNGA80 #MentalHealth #ActonNCDs

#MentalHealth affects all of us, yet it remains stigmatized and underfunded globally. We must talk more openly about mental health and take action to ensure no young person is left unsupported. Today, we're excited to launch a new video for our «Thriving Together» partnership with the Z Zurich Foundation. It highlights the crucial role of caregivers in supporting young people's mental well-being. Caregivers are on the front lines, providing vital support and understanding young people need. Through this partnership, we're using a systemic change approach to deliver better mental health support for adolescents. Our goal is to support at least 11 million people by 2027. A heartfelt thank you goes to the Z Zurich Foundation for their inspiring collaboration and unwavering commitment to this cause 💙 Join us in changing the conversation around mental health. This campaign highlights how young changemakers perceive mental health, what they expect from society, and how they recommend we move forward together. ✨ Let’s celebrate these voices, listen, learn, and take action — because mental health matters everywhere. #WorldMentalHealthDay #GlobalSouthYouth #MentalHealthAwareness #YouthVoices #ASDF #RootsPeople #MentalHealthMatters #WellBeing #ClimateJustice #GenderEquality

World Mental Health Day (October 10) reminds us that caring for others begins with caring for ourselves. In this clip, Kay Matthews, Founder and Executive Director of the Shades of Blue Project, shares two truths: the people doing the work also need care, rest, and support — AND that rest IS MANDATORY. This conversation took place during our Black Maternal Mental Health episode of BMH in Your Neighborhood, shared during Black Maternal Mental Health Week, founded and led by the Shades of Blue Project. It’s important that we continue to create a culture of care where rest is honored, healing is centered, and every advocate, clinician, and community worker feels seen. 💜 ✨ Follow and support the marvelous work of Shades of Blue Project. It is always a pleasure to support such important causes. Did you know? 80% of small business owners report experiencing common symptoms of poor mental health at least a few times a year. 56% of small business owners in the UK say they’ve experienced poor mental health in the past 12 months. That's high, that's a lot of people. Remember to schedule “mental maintenance” slots, block in 30 minutes weekly just for introspection, downtime, or journaling. This can help organize and clarify your thoughts. Set explicit “shutdown rituals”, we love what we do and it can be easy to work a lot but if you don't make time for rest your body will force you too. Define how you shut off from work at end of day (walk, journal, put phone away). Being a business owner is incredibility fulfilling but self care is too often sidelined. Make sure you're being kind to yourself.
💚 World Mental Health Day 2025 💚 Today, we stand together to raise awareness, spark conversations, and champion better mental health for all. Today, on #WorldMentalHealthDay, we’re re-sharing one of our mental health videos - a story of courage, connection, and care. “Healing begins when we feel heard. Let’s listen with kindness.” At Sin Sar Bar, mental health has always been close to our work - and our hearts. From creating awareness videos and workshop content to campaigns that break stigma, we’ve had the privilege to build story around mental health. Our flagship campaign, “It’s OK to not be OK,” reached over 24 million people by translating vital resources into 17 ethnic languages. Our co-founder Essam Daod joins a World Mental Health Day event in New York for the session “The Mental Health and Psychosocial Response to Humanitarian Crises,” created in partnership with the Archewell Foundation. The discussion explores how Mental Health support must be recognized as lifesaving first aid, essential in every stage of humanitarian response. From Gaza to other crisis-affected regions, panelists will share insights on preparedness, early intervention, and culturally grounded approaches that help individuals, frontline workers, and communities heal and rebuild with dignity and resilience. Project Healthy Minds #WorldMentalHealthDay
Hard to talk about mental health when so many souls are being lost. Still, I’ll be joining a conversation with Humanity Crew and Archewell at the #WorldMentalHealthDay Festival by ProjectHealthyMinds, on October 10 at 1:30pm (NYC) — to speak about mental health in humanitarian crises. This is not a celebratory post. It’s a quiet voice trying to stay human in an inhumane time. For registration, click: https://lnkd.in/duS6KJcg
