Last week, the Ministry of Youth, Sport, Art and Culture (MoYSAC), and Ministry of Finance in collaboration with Youth Centers and with support from UNICEF, conducted training on Timor-Leste’s State Budget Processes in Dili, Ermera, and Bobonaro. The training aimed to strengthen young people’s understanding of how the national budget is formed and how it works, empowering them, especially the elected suco youth leaders and leaders from youth-led organizations to actively participate in the process and ensure the voices of children, adolescents, and youth are reflected in national priorities. The training brought together 10 facilitators from MoYSAC 26 facilitators from Youth Centers, 18 Post Administrators, who were earlier trained on this to facilitate and 266 elected suco youth leaders and 13 leaders from youth-led organizations across the three municipalities, those who received the training. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to promote meaningful youth participation in governance and decision-making at all levels. This project is supported by @dfat.gov.au under the #ANCP initiative.
