In a village in Papua New Guinea’s Morobe Province, children at an Early Learning Centre are discovering the power of inclusive education. With teachers like Tane, who are fluent in sign language, children aged 3-6 are learning to communicate not only with their classmate Phillandrah, who is deaf, but also with each other – creating a classroom where every child is included. This is part of the Convergence Program, a multisectoral initiative improving children’s lives through health, nutrition, education, WASH, child protection, and social policy. #InternationalDayofSignLanguages © UNICEF/UNI479483/Moran

The issues start with the management team, which reflects poor leadership skills. This is a major factor that can damage the company’s image. The CEO should look into this matter, consider new recruitment, remove unproductive employees, and give opportunities to those who are committed and in need of work. WAKE UP MANAGEMENT TEAM
Customer service in the public service sector is pathetic how could you do that to a long serving teacher? HAPPY 50TH ANNIVERSARY PNG A retired teacher in Kundiawa visited the POSF office to follow up on his entitlements but was left unattended when the officer went for lunch. He patiently waited from noon until 3 pm, only to be told to return the next day as the office was closing. This was not his first experience of delays and neglect; repeated visits brought the same lack of assistance. His story reflects the wider struggles of many retirees in Papua New Guinea who face poor service delivery, indifference, and lack of accountability from public offices. Entitlements are rights, not favors, and denying them strips retirees of dignity. Teachers who have dedicated their lives to shaping the nation deserve respect, timely service, and compassion

A greatly concerning statistic at a time when Lesotho is grappling with high youth unemployment rates, worsened national unemployment rate, social & economic inequality, barriers for access to finance, and fragile economic growth - these numbers reflect looming crisis unless decisive action is taken to avert the situation now! Everyone involved must join effort to secure quality foundational learning and not risk compounding struggles of tomorrow, such as weak human capital, reduced competitiveness and innovative thinking, and limited opportunities for future generations.
