Mozambique, a land rich in culture, resilience and hope. Everyday, UN volunteers rise with purpose, carrying skills and passion to communities across the country, from the bustling city streets to remote villages. Their mornings begin with 1 mission to make a difference. When I was based in Kilimani, there I woke up, I fed my babies, played with them and then I went to the office. Most times I went on missions and I didn't stay just to do the office work and talks with partners. That were based in the city. I think one of the things that has impressed me most and where I can see real impact for children and young people and countries is when you have a strong volunteerism spirit in the country. I myself started this kind of work volunteering, and I think that that early engagement with volunteerism is a very good start in a career, but it also is very useful throughout. Man's career, certainly speaking to a lot of colleagues who are eventually retiring, how they want to get back into volunteerism, supporting communities and building more and more networks to help communities to grow and thrive together. Across Mozambique, volunteers are at the forefront of recovery and resilience. In the aftermath of cyclones and amidst the challenges of climate change, they stand shoulder to shoulder with communities rebuilding, protecting and adapting for a safer tomorrow. When agencies and partners welcome volunteers, they unlock new energy, innovation, international and local expertise. Volunteers bring us closer to the people we serve, expanding our reach, deepening trust and multiplying impact where it matters most. So really, it's something I would promote to all. Agencies, organizations to really engage volunteers in your workforce, to bring in new energy innovation ideas, to expand your reach, to get closer to the people. This is the power of volunteerism in Mozambique, a movement built on solidarity, resilience and hope. Together, volunteers and partners are shaping a future where no one is left behind.
