Today UNICEF Lesotho had the pleasure of hosting a courtesy meeting with Mrs. Mashudu Ndou, Vodacom Group Executive – Foundations and Partnerships, to reflect on the progress of our collaboration and explore future priorities. Since UNICEF Lesotho and Vodacom Lesotho Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2022, this collaboration has: ✅ Equipped over 2,300 girls with digital skills through #CodeLikeAGirl programme ✅ Strengthened inclusive education at St. Bernadette School for the Visually Impaired through the provision of tailored learning resources and accessibility support for visually impaired students. ✅ Supported menstrual hygiene management through Her Majesty’s Hlokomela Banana program, improving access to menstrual products and dignity for vulnerable adolescent girls while reducing school absenteeism and stigma ✅ Strengthened efforts to prevent gender-based violence and promote gender-equitable social norms, providing survivor-centered services and safe spaces for women and girls in line with national and international standards. ✅ Mobilized vital resources for transforming education in Lesotho, including contributing towards unlocking a USD 2.5 million GPE grant We are grateful to Vodacom Lesotho Foundation for its continued commitment to children and youth in Lesotho. We look forward to continued collaboration that expands opportunities and creates a brighter future for #ForEveryChild. 💙
