Ghana continues to lead in Early Childhood Education (ECE) as one of the first countries to establish national ECE standards and integrate kindergarten (KG) into the primary education system. During our roundtable discussion yesterday with the Ghana Education Service , UNICEF’s Dr Pia Britto emphasised the essential role of research and implementation science in #ECE. Key points included: - Ensuring that teacher training results in meaningful changes in the classroom - Designing programs with scalability and sustainability in mind - Strengthening the connection between KG and primary education - Developing governance systems that convert evidence into action As #Ghana expands its support for KG teachers nationwide, universities and local researchers will play a vital role in enhancing learning experiences for young children in the classroom.
