UNICEF Cameroon’s Post

🧼✨ What if your child could become a hero today? To mark Global Handwashing Day, U-Reporters from the North and Far North of Cameroon are on a mission: turning everyday children into hygiene heroes. In schools across Maroua, children are learning through fun, hands-on demonstrations, supported by essential hygiene kits provided by UNICEF’s WASH section. These kits — including soap, 15L and 20L buckets with taps, kettles, hand sanitizer, and posters — were distributed to 11 U-Report communities to help embed lasting hygiene habits. 👧🏽👦🏽 The impact is already visible: 🔹 56 girls and 64 boys at the Islamic Nursery School of Doualare 🔹 263 girls and 314 boys at the Islamic Primary School of Doualare But the most powerful feedback came from the school itself: 💬 “We hope you’ll come back to talk to our children about other topics. Your visit was truly beneficial for both us as educators and for our pupils.” — Mme Abdoulaye, Headmistress of the Islamic Nursery School of Doualare 💙 Parents, teachers, children — you too can be handwashing heroes! One simple gesture. A lifetime of protection. Let’s make hygiene a daily habit and a shared responsibility. 📢 Spread the message. Practice the habit. Be the change. #HandwashingHeroes #GlobalHandwashingDay #UReport #UNICEFCameroon #HygieneForAll #ChildHealth #CleanHandsSaveLives
