UNICEF Cameroon’s Post

⚠️ Could your child be exposed to a silent poison at home? On October 2, 2026, at the Djeuga Palace in Yaoundé, UNICEF Cameroon and its partners convened a capacity-building session with climate-environmental civil society organisations (CSOs) and young leaders to raise awareness about the dangers of lead poisoning and its link to climate action. Lead exposure is a hidden threat. It can be found in everyday items—paint, batteries, toys, cookware—and its impact on children is devastating: learning difficulties, behavioural disorders, and long-term health issues. This initiative aims to: ✅ Generate evidence and data on lead exposure in children ✅ Conduct a Child Environmental Health (CEH) assessment ✅ Support national ownership and advocacy for stronger protection policies 👨👩👧👦 Parents, your awareness can save lives. 👉 Check the materials your children use daily. 👉 Learn about common sources of lead in your home and community. 👉 Join the movement for a safe and healthy environment for every child. 📣 Let’s act now to protect their future. #ChildHealth #StopLeadPoisoning #UNICEFCameroon #ClimateAction #SafeEnvironment
