UNICEF Cameroon’s Post

⚡️ A Game-Changer for Children's Futures! A strategic meeting between UNICEF Cameroon and NACHTIGAL HYDRO POWER COMPANY to expand the “Child-Friendly Communities” project around the Nachtigal dam. On October 17, 2025, UNICEF ’s team was welcomed by the General Manager of NACHTIGAL HYDRO POWER COMPANY (NHPC) at the hydroelectric site near Batschenga. The goal? To brainstorm impactful Child Friendly Communities initiatives that place children at the heart of community development. NHPC shares the vision of the “Child-Friendly Communities” project: investing in children's well-being, engaging youth, and collaborating with municipalities to ensure sustainable and inclusive socio-economic growth. Following fruitful discussions, the General Manager and her team provided a guided tour of the site — a historic achievement and the most powerful dam in #Cameroon today. Why this matters: When energy becomes a lever for human development, every community thrives — and every child gets a chance. Stay tuned for more updates… the future of our children begins here! #ForEveryChild, strong partnerships

We are in need of more volunteers to commit themselves for the upbringing of the vulnerable.

It was a pleasure to have you at the Nachtigal site.
