This week's "Behind the Business" takes a look at how we move from reacting to reimagining the ways we'll serve our customers in the new normal. Sowmyanarayan Sampath, President, Global Enterprise, Verizon Business joins me to detail his white paper on recommendations for CIOs and CTOs about the critical components required to establish a successful and secure remote workforce. Two powerful articles this week which serve as a reminder that we still have so much work to do to gain gender equality for women. We must double down on our efforts to create fair and equitable work environments for everyone regardless of gender or race. https://lnkd.in/eXXGNKgM https://lnkd.in/e5J9rJER https://lnkd.in/euk2WB8s #
Great to speak with Google’s Devices and Services Business Organization earlier today. It was a fun way to mark an exciting day - The Google Pixel 6a is available today at Verizon stores! Since the first Pixel launch in 2016, Google and Verizon have worked hard to deepen our partnership to the benefit of our customers - consumer and business alike. We're thrilled to expand Google’s family of amazing Pixel smartphones on the network more people rely on. Thank you to Ornella Indonie and team for having me! Verizon has never had better assets in place to win, with a continued focus on our strategy and execution, I know we will reaccelerate our growth as a business. Our best days are ahead as we work tirelessly on behalf of all four of our stakeholders - employees whose success we celebrate, customers who we serve each and every day, shareholders who expect us to deliver, and society who we must act in the best interest of. Second quarter was also my last quarter leading Verizon Business. I want to reiterate how incredibly grateful I am for the commitment and hard work of the #VTeam. In the face of an uncertain environment, digital resilience and transformation has never been more important and the team delivered for customers in a big way. #ForwardTogether https://lnkd.in/emjMWTGT

What’s better than fulfilling a Make-A-Wish grant for a cancer survivor! One more example of how John Deere shows up for the communities in which we live, work and play.
I spent time this week with some of Verizon’s Retail and RTB team and our newest V Teamers - our interns. I came away from our conversations struck by the curiosity, commitment and collaborative spirit of our squad. Coaching and encouraging one another to learn and develop is a core tenant of people #leadership - but it is also foundational to our culture at Verizon. How are you supporting your colleagues' learning and development? Share in the comments below. #VTeam #ForwardTogether
For today's leaders, having courage and confidence while also acting with compassion has never been more important. We have to make difficult decisions, be confident in the path we're forging, and trust that true leadership is always grounded in respect and kindness. It isn't always easy, but it is key to navigating our current environment. I had the privilege of speaking to Adam Bryant recently about the balancing act of leadership, my lessons learned and much more. Read more from our conversation here: https://lnkd.in/gFby5wCr

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Hershel “Woody” Williams, the last surviving World War II Medal of Honor recipient. He was a great American in every sense. His heroism, patriotism and outstanding kindness will not be soon forgotten. #SemperFi, Woody. Woody Williams Foundation
We just wrapped up the Verizon Business Leadership Meeting in Boston, my final leadership event as CEO. Our time together bolstered my belief that our team knows the Verizon Business strategy inside and out - and as THE industry leader, we are uniquely positioned to deliver for our customers around the globe. I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the range of emotions that came with the milestone of this meeting - gratitude, joy, sadness, elation, and more. I enjoyed conversations with new colleagues and those I’ve worked with for nearly the entire 35 years I’ve spent at Verizon. I want to thank my colleagues for leaning in to fill this week with so many moments that mattered. It was unforgettable. As I return home to New Jersey, our Verizon Credo rings loudest in my mind. To me, there is no better roadmap to our shared success than the Credo and our values. Integrity. Respect. Performance Excellence. Accountability. Social Responsibility. Now, more than ever, these principles matter. They will define how we move the world forward from here. #GoFightWin #ForwardTogether

I am filled with pride as I reflect on a fantastic few weeks with our Verizon Business #VTeam across the country. From North Carolina to Iowa to Colorado, from our retail stores to our offices - Our time on the road reaffirmed my belief that we work with the best people in the business. Verizon Business's work has never been more important to our customers and their digital transformation, and we're showing up every day to ensure we're their partner of choice. What's more, it is incredibly special to pay witness to how this team shows up for one another, exhibiting our values of integrity, respect, performance excellence, accountability and social responsibility every step of the way. Because we only win when we cross the finish line together. #GoFightWin #ForwardTogether
