Making Projects, Portfolios and Transformations Work

Check out my article on how a well-functioning app can be shittified by the software company. This may also affect you as an app user. The article first explains what "enshittification" of a software app is. The real life example of the note-taking app Evernote is used to show how it works and what impact it has on users. Then the range of what users can do about it is discussed. Because in the case of a note-taking app also data is involved I will close with describing what I did in my specific case with moving away from Evernote and why I switched to an open source alternative. #notetaking #joplin #github #evernote

I used Evernote for almost 14 years, and the reasons you have outlined in your article are the exact reasons I also switched to Joplin. Still getting used to the switch but already much happier (and my computer is running better too!).

If more German speakers are reading this article and they want to see what Joplin can be like and why I prefer the software over Evernote, feel free to check out my review on YouTube. :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SKaz1txeKA I've made the switch a while back and haven't regretted it one bit. The final nail in the coffin was installing the MacOS theme, the app is now prettier than ever and looks as high class as it truly is. Shoutout to Laurent Cozic and everyone working on the app, please keep up the great work. Thank you for bringing up the option to sponsor the project on github Stephen Rietiker, I'll look into that as well.
