The challenge is to strip away clutter while keeping just enough detail to orient, guide and engage. Here’s a peek into our process: exploring references, illustration styles and visual languages to develop map designs that are not only clear and functional, but also feel like a natural extension of the place they belong to.

Lighting can make or break your talking head videos. 💡 In construction, presentation matters. Just like you wouldn’t leave rough edges on a glass install, you don’t want shadows or bad lighting on your videos. Here’s how different lighting setups look—and why it’s worth spending a few minutes to get it right. Here’s the full video 👉 https://lnkd.in/g9qyKYAJ

https://lnkd.in/gTCADbxY Shape Theory Fundamentals: To draw anything, master the basic shapes—triangle, circle, and square—and their variations. This method is used by artists, illustrators, and architects to simplify and represent the world around them. Problem with Shape Arrangement: A viewer struggled to draw a bus using shape theory, recognizing circles and rectangles but misarranging them, leading to an incorrect representation. Correcting the Bus Drawing: Start by drawing the wheels first, then position the body of the bus so that it joins the wheels about halfway down. This arrangement ensures the bus looks correct. Adding Details Efficiently: Add windows, a bus driver, and passengers quickly and simply to create a recognizable and effective visual narrative without needing high realism—10% realism is enough for our brains to understand. #SimonBanks #drawingbus #howtodrawabus #busdrawingtutorial #beginnerdrawing #drawingtutorial #drawingtechniques #drawingforbeginners #arttutorial #InnovationIdea #perspective #ideas #KeynoteSpeaker #Innovation #InternationalKeynoteSpeaker #Creativity #Interviews #Keynote #Author #Podcaster #hirekeynotespeaker #creativitydevelopment

Today’s practice = panel layout + character design. I’m testing manga panel flow—how to guide the reader’s eye and match the beat of the scene. Action beats need movement (diagonals, overlaps, speed lines); story beats need breathing room and negative space so the dialogue lands. Warm-ups were quick just to keep the brain in 3D: straight/curved lines, ellipses, boxes, cylinders. Then I pushed perspective—bottom-up three-quarters and a couple top-down angles—to get more foreshortening into the poses. I wrapped by building a character from the same base pose so the layout choices and the design language stay consistent. I’m leaving construction lines on purpose. Readability > pretty lines. The goal is a clean eye-trace from panel to panel and poses that sell the moment without overworking the render. If you’ve got a go-to trick for eye flow or pacing, drop it—I’m soaking up everything. #thaniabear #dfw #producer #mangaka #artist

We're working on adding "themes" to Feature Upvote. The idea is, even people with no design skills (like me!) can pick from a list of themes to make the board design match the tone of your game or product. Here's the "cozy" theme I created as a proof of concept while we work on the technical details.
It's currently harder than it should be to customise the appearance of your Feature Upvote board. We're exploring how we can make it easier by introducing board themes. The challenge is keeping to our core principle of "keep it simple". Here's a working example of how we made our demo board "cozy", by adding some borrowed "cottagecore" artwork, choosing a more playful font, and hiding the top navbar. This is still a work in progress, but I think the potential is strong.
