Yesterday while building Cosmocloud, I learnt about Generics in #typescript and how one can easily build and manage repetitive components (organisms) in #reactjs using a very good approach of Generics. Coming from the Backend side (Java/C++), seeing these concepts in typescript/React takes me back to good coding practises and best ways to write, maintain and scale code even in the Frontend. InVision is shutting down ! 💔 This was the first design tool I saw back in Innovaccer and taught me what is UX Design and how Product and Engineering came together as a single unit. Figma is making things happen in this industry, and it proves that if you can't uphold your pace, you would eventually phase out, even a $2 billion valued InVision. Thanks for teaching me about UX design and getting me interested in building products from scratch! 🥰

Scaling applications in Cosmocloud on the fly is so interesting!🔥 My Linux Foundation's CKAD certification comes into the picture here! Problem statement? Creating, scaling and destroying resources on the fly is something pretty complex! Most of you would know DevOps? Terraform? ArgoCD? Jenkins? Now think that you have to scale not 1 service but 1000 client's 10,000 services on the fly, each having a different task - Create, Update, Scale logical "business components" and not just infra. Things like Terraform and ArgoCD work for the overall platform -- Creating Cosmocloud's Infra, but what about on demand logical components requested by customer? What about automatic networking and integration of all components? That is where we built our own Orchestrator (above industry grade stuff like K8s, Helm, etc) -- In just seconds, you can create / scale / destroy any type of infra on any cloud in any cluster "with business logic coupling" and billing integrated into it. 🔥 Should I write it as a tech blog? Building a stable & scalable tech platform takes time. 🤗 You have to think about all the side test cases, scenarios and worst possible outcomes if something crashes or breaks. That, along with the responsibility of scaling it not just for 1 business but multiple other businesses. AWS does it, so does Figma and Github. Building Cosmocloud's complex things and digging deep into the documentation always brings goodies! 🎁 It's not always easy to build complex systems, nor it is easy to scale simple systems. 🚀 There are always challenges in each solution, but we at Cosmocloud prioritise it like this - 🔹 [𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲] What is the return this feature is bringing? 🔹 [𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁] Is this solution easy to build ? How much time will it take to build as well as "to maintain"? 🔹 [𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱] How costly this solution is to build or scale? Is the easy solution very costly and incurs high cash burns? 🔹 [𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲] How secure is the solution, as well as how easy to maintain and "keep it secure"? There is no 1 solution to each problem, you need to find the answers to the above questions. P.S Also, there is never 1 solution "over time", the feature and solution approach might change as the need / scale changes. #systemdesign #softwareengineering #softwaredevelopment
