Department for Science, Innovation and Technology’s Post

Yesterday Department for Science, Innovation and Technology ministers saw first hand the impact of AI for good and its positive influence during visits to various parts of the UK, in honour of the #AISafetySummit. 🙌 This comes just after the government announced its plans to upskill AI capabilities across the UK yesterday. In response, ministers have been visiting multiple locations to express their support of AI for good, which included: 📚 Secretary of State, Michelle Donelan MP visited Imperial College London to see how the funding will help improve AI skills and talent. 💻 Viscount Camrose went to Darktrace to discover how their AI software can identify and protect critical national cyber infrastructure. 🎥 Minister Paul Scully ventured to StoryFutures, who are putting innovative story telling at the heart of the next generation of immersive technologies. 🧪 Minister George Freeman MP was greeted by Boaty McBoatFace at the British Antartic Survey AI lab, where AI is helping research in sea ice forecasting, space weather, ice dynamics and sea level rise. #AISafetySummit
