While overall enrolment and dropout rates have improved from 2014-2022, secondary and higher secondary education has seen the lowest enrolment rates and the highest dropout rates among the four education levels (primary, upper primary, secondary, and higher secondary). However, the dropout rate for female students has decreased since 2016-17, showing an increase in education awareness and the success of various schemes to address gender parity in education. There has been no significant difference in enrolments or dropouts between male and female students in recent years. For more data on Enrolment and Dropout Rates: https://bit.ly/42hU0HO Note: ANER in primary education is calculated by dividing the no. of children who are primary school aged and enrolled by the population of the same age group and multiplying by 100. Dropout rate is the proportion of students enrolled who are no longer enrolled in the next grade in a school year. India Data Insights #NationalGirlChildDay #Education #GenderParity

Sattva Knowledge Institute's livelihoods lead Tripti Naswa shared her views on #menstrualequity with the businessline's Anjana P V. She says: "While some argue that mandatory menstrual leave could disincentivise companies from hiring women, this is yet to be seen. Countries like Japan and South Korea haven't seen a decline in women's employment after implementing menstrual leave. However, this might impact women in the unorganised sectors a lot more due to resource crunches. Women in these work environments are at a greater disadvantage especially when it comes to accessing clean and safe facilities at work."
