I am so excited to unveil the beginning of a new journey as Chief Growth Officer at Optimism Unlimited! I'll focus on the Optimism Collective’s go-to-market work across business development, partnerships, marketing, sales, and growth. If you don't know the name, you will in due time! Optimism isn't just another blockchain project – it’s a Collective – and working together, we will be the most critical contributors in the world in pushing blockchain tech forward! Today, pioneering platforms, including Coinbase's Base network, rely on Optimism's tech stack and governance system to fuel their operations. Some of the most transformative apps, like Sam Altman's Worldcoin, Friend Tech, and Farcaster, all call the Optimism ecosystem their home. And on top of it, industry titans like a16z crypto have made a big bet on it. I understand that blockchain often sparks a spectrum of reactions – from curiosity and puzzlement to skepticism. But here's my conviction: We are on the cusp of redefining digital landscapes that you all know today. The challenges we tackle and the solutions we craft are not just technological endeavors - I genuinely believe our work is purposeful and impactful. Blockchain is more than a developer's tool; it's a commitment to a decentralized, secure, and inclusive digital future. This may not feel important to most today, but one day it will. My journey has always been steered by passion and a drive to partake in transformative ventures. And with Optimism, this isn't just a role for me, but a deep curiosity and intrigue to work through problems that fascinate me. Over the last decade I've had two roles I've loved - leading Gaming at YouTube w/ 400M logged in users every day, and leading Polygon Labs, helping push adoption of blockchains. One of my favorite things over that time has always been speaking with creators, developers, founders, and entrepreneurs. I wanted to share the news that I’ll be leaving Polygon Labs at the end of the month. I’m staying on to help as an advisor, but will be rolling off my day-to-day duties at the end of the month. I will continue to work in the industry, as I have full conviction in this space, but for now I will focus on angel investing, venture, and providing high-level strategic counsel at Polygon Labs. Working at Polygon has been an honor! Big thanks to the founders and my wonderful team. You all made getting up every day to work here so easy! I’d like to think I’m departing on a high note with us being listed in the TIME 100 Most Influential Companies – that’s a tough one top! Marc Boiron, our Chief Legal Officer, will be taking over – he’s an incredible pioneer in web3, and will do great things for Polygon Labs! I’ll jump back into something in the space towards the end of the year, so stay tuned!
