Rosanna Durruthy’s Post

As a leader, spouse and mother of two, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and a resident of Florida, I am deeply concerned about the anti-LGBTQ+ bills taking shape in my state, Texas, Michigan and across the U.S.   We condemn these bills that do nothing to build bridges to economic opportunities. In fact, they pose a danger to the very fabric of our economy by attempting to exclude the LGBTQ+ community. LinkedIn’s vision is about inclusive, economic opportunity for all, so that millions of LGBTQ+ workers who want to make a positive impact in the world can do just that.    Today we shared our support of the LGBTQ+ community along with the Human Rights Campaign and dozens of other businesses in an ad in the Dallas Morning News, taking a stand against Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s recent anti-trans initiatives in the state. I invite our LinkedIn community to standup for LGBTQ+ families and their right to make decisions to support their loved ones. #humanrights #HRC #lgbtqequality

We would love to have our name added, but this is only for companies with 500+ employees. Would love to know of other opportunities for smaller companies.

While I absolutely greatly appreciate these companies signing this and some executives speaking up, I’d like to see some companies start taking action in these states.

My opinion only is education in schools from prek to high school, should be about learning, albeit history, not from a one side or the other perspective as a this is the time, this is the events, these are the changes, framework or rights to governmental ideologies, some general sociology, some general psychology, , etc. to explain how we came to be as a democracy, the sciences general overview, the literature, the artist men and women that influenced, general basics of learning regardless of identification of gender, pronouns, and respect and tolerance for the right to be. Not segregating nor encouraging one way or the other, parents or guardians should have a definite say in the in depth specifics of any topic. Needs to be inclusive of expanding the basics of general knowledge to help them be successful in what they choose to be in life. Not one specific narrow field but supportive of being the best they are. Teach respect. Work hard. And diligence in meeting set goals personal and collective that inspire children as adults to work and produce to be world changers. Not labeled or grouped,, when age appropriate changes can be explained if desired by their parents. And school if agreed on. Rather than group setting..

Distressed but not deterred

I would suggest to shift your anger and effort to much more serious enemy for the whole humanity - anti-LGBT Putin. Democrats and Republicans must unite to help Ukraine to save the civilize world. I've LGBT friends and hear you. But now we must prevent much grater danger. Biden is literally supporting Putin personally banning transfer of Mig jets to Ukraine. Put some pressure on your senators-democrats to provide real support to Ukraine. https://www.thedailybeast.com/ukraines-gay-combat-volunteers-are-ready-to-fight-for-their-lives-against-anti-lgbtq-vladimir-putin
