This winter has shown us how not green windmills are. they are unsustainable long-term. They use petroleum based products to de-ice them and keep them going and leak oil quite often into the environment. they require a huge footprint to manufacture. Devastate environments in order to install them. Are more expensive to build and maintain than the electricity they actually generate. They are dangerous to people who live around them not to mention the wildlife. Unfortunately a great idea but not sustainable long-term. All companies developing windmills should be required to tear them down remove them and reclaimate the land when they are no longer in use or sustainable.

Most of our wind turbines in Texas are froze up. They're not doing any good being frozen. Solor power isn't doing the job either. We stll have to rely on natural gas, coal and nuclear power. This should cast doubt on President Biden's dession to halt the XL pipeline because we still don't have a viable 24/7 power substitute. Right now we need all of our power producing capabilities to get us through this transition period.

Wind turbines might be fine in fair weather but don’t rely on them when it’s freezing...that is why Texas residents have had power outages since Sunday night😱

Nothing is perfect nor should stand alone. Yes in Texas we have seen that turbine and solar power are not absolute in their offerings. Yet there should be a determination that in certain areas and climates that green solutions work better than others. Purpose should be to continue to better solutions using petroleum and bi-products. Electricity in cars/trucks and planes require more critical resources to build than really pay off. Hence the hybrid systems.....keep the lines of communication and innovations open!

Wind turbines are great but I always wonder about the designs. There are huge stresses on the mechanical parts, how much research has been done in vertical turbines that seem to be as efficient if not more and have less stress on the structure.

We have a lot of waste and garbage which means the potential for a lot of fuel, cleaning up waste and trash and reaping the benefits with fuel from doing so.
