Today, I had the pleasure of meeting the new leadership team from karolinskainstitutet (KI), led by President Professor Annika Östman Wernerson. Our discussions, held in my office, centered on strengthening our collaboration and exploring areas of shared interest. I was particularly inspired by Professor Wernerson’s expertise in kidney and transplant science, her commitment to patient care for chronic kidney disease, and her experience in clinical pathology. We also had insightful conversations on advancing pedagogical research and training our students to shape the future of public health.
Congratulations Prof.
Maybe we should also start thinking about the causes of chronic kidney disease and advocate for people to avoid them where possible. A good example is the relationship of cigarette smoking with the cause of lung Cancer. Not getting sick is obviously a better option than getting treatment or a transplant. That would save lives, time and money!
Great work Prof
