I have the grand pleasure of attending the Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags - one of the biggest events in the shoe and bags industry. Expo Riva is also confirmed as one of the most important international exhibitions dedicated to the footwear industry. I am looking after the Polish delegation representing the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Poland - Camera di Commercio e dell'Industria Italiana in Polonia - invited by Alessio Racioppoli. I will bring you more updates about the show but so far I am extremely impressed with the organisation, the level of care, and professionalism that surrounds this event. You might know I have been involved in the MICE and events industry for years and every exhibition is different. But I am so impressed by this event as well as the Riva Del Garda area and the Fiera/ exhibition center. Quality international suppliers, quality buyers, and fantastic Italian hospitality at the center. What else could you desire from the dream event?

I always start the New Year in a new country. This time Egypt. I am taken aback visiting Luxor . 1/3 of all historical sights and monuments are located in this city ( including the valley of the kings). After visiting the Pharaoh's tumbs I am convinced that normal people didn't build it. I mean... they had some special power source or super strenght....But in all seriousness, it's unbelievable and still a mystery how they actually did it. Life is a mystery and we don't know what lies ahead of us for 2024. We can hope and learn from the past . And the most important is to spread love and kindness wherever we go and be tolerant of other cultures, rituals and differences.

Reflection time : building any company/businesses is not easy. Sometimes people get lucky, but usually it's the combined effort of not giving up , trying different things and learning from mistakes, while working super hard. I used to be embarrassed about my mistakes in business. But mistakes are necessary. I know that now. It's ok not to know it all. It's ok to ask for help. It's ok to try again. I wish you all (myself included) that in 2024 we learn from our mistakes faster, and try again wiser. 😉

Exciting times ahead....

Once again this year travelling to visit my 87 years old grandmother and be with her even for 2-3 days around Christmas and spedning combined 14 hours on trains to be able to do so. Although my grandmother has a daughter who lives nearby and always takes her in for Christmas. So it's not too bad, but it's still very important that our elders feel we care and make time for them. There are many elders who will tell you " Don't bother coming over , I will be fine. Don't worry about me, I know how busy you are etc". But secretly they wish you cared and you visited. At the same time, don't forget your elderly friends and people in your community. This winter season I ask every one of you : visit one elder person. Let's make this a goal. Loliness is a disease that kills.

December is my favourite month of the year. I think I am not alone in saying that those involved in corporate social responsibility or third sector work , look at December as a very special and impact driven month. I am so happy we can provide technology to help others in this sector.
