Network Automation Engineer @ Interswitch Group | Google Cloud Professional Architect | AWS Certified Networking Specialist
After attempting AWS Advanced Networking Specialty exam, I have to go back to the drawing board and strategize my plan to retake the exam next month. Interesting going through the course syllabus again and mapping out those areas which needs more competence and focus. During my study , I came across an Amazon Web Services (AWS) networking series on Twitch. Their sessions was structured into five episodes Episode 1: Fundamentals of AWS Networking and New features Matt Lehwess highlight the fundamentals of AWS Networking and how each components get connected together. How VPC works, how to ensure private connectivity to Public AWS services, dedicated connection, VPC peering The session was really insightful for understanding the fundamentals which will help alot in networking architecture Session link: https://lnkd.in/dTnwvh9Z Episode 2: Connectivity to AWS and Hybrid AWS Network Architectures Tom Adamski, the session was really informative, he practically explained one of the difficult concepts in AWS Networking Hybrid connectivity using Direct connect, he analyse with different scenarios for Transit VIF, Private VIF and Public VIF with their limitations. Also, he explained Route53 DNS resolution using inbound and outbound endpoints. How to associate VPC ID to private hosted zone for inbound DNS resolution for multiple VPCs. Also, how to use RAM to associate forwarding rules for outbound DNS resolution for multiples VPCs. Session link: https://lnkd.in/dB9nh5vc Episode 3: Advanced AWS Network Architecture Example and Deep dive James Wenzel, being a Solutions Architect highlights several requirements for a business applications to scale their infrastructure globally using Transit Gateway, Global Accelerator, Service Endpoints and Transit VPC2.0(CISO won't get an heart attack) The session practically focus on real use cases and scenarios considering performance, cost, high availability and security I enjoyed his illustrations, mind blowing facts was that he used Microsoft PowerPoint for the graphics. Session link: https://lnkd.in/dWJipWBe Episode 4: Ask the Experts The session highlight the recap of the first three episodes and give the audience to ask questions related to the subject matter. Quite an interesting, though am not watching it live 😂 Session link: https://lnkd.in/dNVRtTzp Episode 5: Network Visibility into the traffic Traversing AWS Infrastructure. Sidhartha Chauhan explained the concept of traffic mirroring and VPC flow logs to gain more insights on the packet inspection and traffic flow respectively. Using the High school physics to analyse the traffic mirroring from an EC2 instance to target(either ENI or NLB) for monitoring and visibility.
