Proud to be a part of a national movement to ensure equality in STEM education. For more information. We are pleased to invite you to tune into the White House Summit on STEMM Equity and Excellence today at 10:00 AM ET. As both extensive research and personal testimony makes clear, today’s science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine ecosystem is inequitable by nearly every measure, shutting out and diverting away too many talented individuals, closing off opportunities for discovery and innovation, and limiting our national potential. The Biden-Harris Administration is committed to eliminating systemic barriers to participation in STEMM and ensuring that all of the American public can contribute to and benefit from science and technology. The diversity of its people is America’s global competitive advantage. As critical, transformative new science and technology investments in education, research, and workforce begin to take shape, the United States has an historic opportunity to meet President Biden’s Day 1 call to advance equity for people who have been historically underserved, and leverage this once-in-a-generation moment to power a more just, inclusive, and competitive science and technology enterprise. This gathering will bring together people from government and businesses, civic, academic, nonprofit, community-based, and philanthropic organizations committed to working collaboratively to build a more equitable and excellent STEMM ecosystem. A livestream of the event will be available starting at 10:00 AM ET on whitehouse.gov/live. Please join us! Regards, White House Office of Science and Technology Policy
I was able to watch this morning - thank you for your leadership! and for representing Chicago so well!
As the mother of two little black boys, I appreciate the work you are doing here. We've participated in the summer program for NSBE for my 9 year old, but I've found there aren't that many true STEM programs for young kids (with teachers who understand how to teach to little people) unless you live in certain cities, or in our case live closer to a university with such summer programs and trained staff. I'm glad to see more efforts being placed into this area.
It's great to see that you have a voice in the conversation at the national level. Creating a distribution of k-12 STEAM education & mentoring programs that reach youth in EVERY high poverty neighborhood of Chicago and other cities, as well as all other kids, will require huge levels of leadership and long-term commitment. A few great programs in a few places is just not enough.
Congratulations, Natasha! So proud of this success!
You are a rockstar!! Thank you for your leadership and guidance!!
