How to build resilience at work Let’s try this exercise: → Adversity Exposure 1. To start, pick a small challenge related to your work. Something you’ve been avoiding or find slightly uncomfortable. For example: → You’ve been avoiding leading a team meeting because it makes you nervous 2. Now, define what success looks like for this challenge. In our example, your goal might be: → To lead a short portion of the meeting instead of the whole thing 3. Now, think about how you’ll tackle the challenge. For example, for leading the meeting, you might: → Prepare your key points → Practice the entire meeting in advance Just plan your approach to tackle the challenge. 4. Now it’s time to execute the plan. For example, during the meeting, take the lead for your planned segment. Speaking up will help you build confidence. Even if it’s just a short part of the meeting. 5. Alright! The meeting is over. Now it’s time to reflect. Take a moment and ask yourself: → How did it feel to lead, even if it was just a small part? → What went well? → What could I improve next time? That’s it. This is how to build resilience through Adversity Exposure. And remember: → Acknowledge how brave you were to take on the challenge → As you become more confident, go with slighter bigger challenges The more challenges we face, the more resilience we can build. “Let’s build a world where everyone belongs through the power of wellbeing!” – Matty
