46TH LAND OPERATIONS WORKING GROUP Proud to have NATO Allied Land Command host the LOWG in Izmir, Turkey once again. Representatives of 24 allied nations, four partner nations, and members of NATO Command and Force Structure are currently tackling the future challenges of land warfare through discussion, collaboration, and development of land doctrine. Let me introduce you to Colonel General Oleksandr Sirsky. He is the Land Forces Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and he’s leading the ground fight against the Russian invaders. He is a husband, a father, a Soldier, and a patriot. But most of all, he is my friend. Oleksandr asked me to share that things are tough right now, but Ukraine will continue to fight, and he says Ukraine will win!!! Please lift him, the men and women of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as the citizens of Ukraine, up in prayer. Oleksandr: The world is with with you my brother. Keep up the fight. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the Heroes! Michael Quinn NATO Allied Land Command

We were in Odessa on the 4th of July this year, supporting our partner Ukraine in Exercise Sea Breeze. I had the honor of meeting President Zelenskyy, now heroically leading Ukraine in its fight against unjustified and unprovoked Russian aggression. I also met with my brother-in-arms Lieutenant General Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Commander of Ukrainian Land Forces, now commanding the ground fight against the Russian aggressors. Proud to be associated with these brave men and great leaders! Слава Україні! Героям слава! Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) NATO Allied Land Command Michael Quinn #europe #ukraine

THE POWER OF HUNGARY AND NATO In the face of Russia’s unjustified and unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, we stand in solidarity with our Ukrainian brothers and sisters. Robust and lethal defense is critical to the safety and security of our Alliance. The men and women of the 25th György Klapka Rifle Brigade, led by Brig. Gen. Gabor Lorincz, are ready, well trained, and prepared to defend. I would stand with them in the dirt and mud any day. The world is watching. The Hungarian Defence Force is ready and so is the Alliance! For The Alliance! For The Soldier! POLAND’S STRENGTH IS NATO’S STRENGTH 🇵🇱 Met with the Senior leadership of the Polish Armed Forces to discuss the ongoing situation: - Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces GEN Andrezejczak - General commander of Branches of the Armed Forces GEN Mika - Commander of Operational Command LGEN Piotrowski We discussed the strength of Poland’s armed forces, their deep commitment to NATO, and how we must continue to stand shoulder-to-shoulder in the face of provocation. Every time I visit Poland, I am thoroughly impressed by the professionalism, passion, and grit of the Polish Armed Forces. Their continued conduct of vigilance activities is a testament to their leadership, the morale of their Soldiers, and is fundamental to NATO’s strength and readiness. For The Alliance! For The Soldier! NATO Allied Land Command Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) Michael Quinn

LANDCOM IN SLOVAKIA Had extensive meetings with the Chief of the General Staff of the Slovak Armed Forces General Daniel Zmeko, Land Forces Commander MG Ivan Pach, as well as the NATO Force Integration Unit Slovakia commanded by Colonel Peter Brauner. We discussed strengthening security of the Alliance through Ehanced Vigilance Activities and the formation of new battle groups in the region; making the Alliance stronger, faster, and more cohesive in the face of outside threats. Weakness invites aggression, so NATO is ready to deter any aggressor, and if necessary, defend the people of our alliance with a robust and capable military force. For The Soldier! For The Alliance! How did I end up here? There are lots of check lists associated with the transition from the military life. None of them asked what my “American Dream” was. Around the 20 year mark I stopped for a moment and thought about my military service. In my mind, much of what service members do ties directly to protecting and preserving people’s American Dream. Then I thought about the concept of the American Dream. For some it could be starting a business, owning a house, or 2.5 kids and a dog. Maybe it’s becoming YouTube famous, running for public office, or going back to school to get a degree and work for SpaceX. But what was my American Dream? I had to think about it and that’s how I got exactly where I am in the attached picture. I wanted to buy some land and start a cattle ranch. I wanted to build a house. I wanted to become a first generation farmer/rancher. That was my idea of the American Dream. So before you start scrabbling to get through all the TAP classes, medical appointments, buy life insurance, try to leverage a DoD-SkillBridge opportunity, finish your degree/certifications, clear the garrison, find mentors, write a resume, or file a VA claim, just stop to take a moment to think about: - What is your American Dream? - What are the things that must be done during my transition to live that dream? - How do I plan to get from where I am now to the place I want to be? - Are there prerequisites for what I want to do or where I want to go? If you don’t take the time to figure out what you want how could you possibly set goals to there? Just some thoughts I wanted to share as I go though my own #militarytransition while #livinglerette.
