the LEGO Group’s Post

A meaningful step towards 100% renewable energy 🌏 LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam is celebrating the signing of a Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) with Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP Vietnam), one of the first of its kind in Vietnam! The DPPA is an important step towards operating our new factory on 100% renewable energy. Under the agreement, renewable electricity from VSIP’s large-scale solar panels will be supplied directly to our factory and stored in a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), ensuring a stable and consistent energy supply - rain or shine! This solution is expected to help reduce around 15,000 tonnes of CO₂e each year and comes in addition to the 12,400 rooftop solar panels already installed on our buildings. Really encouraging to see LEGO moving closer to 100% renewable energy. Using DPPA together with storage feels like a smart and practical way to keep things stable and green at the same time. Hopefully more companies in SEA can take similar steps soon.

I have been following the LEGO Group in their efforts to achieve 100% sustainable manufacturing by 2032 since the release of their promotional Plants from Plants set in 2018. It is amazing to see how each of LEGO Manufacturing's locations is making efforts to help reach the LEGO Group's sustainability goals. Congratulations to LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam on their Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA)!
