The U.S. Army Futures and Concepts Center (FCC) is designing the future force by developing integrated concepts and requirements, informed by experimentation, and synchronized into AFC and Army processes to drive persistent Army modernization. The vision for FCC is the establishment of a cutting edge and distributive center for the exploration of the future that is adept, adaptive, innovative, inquisitive, out of the box, technology enhanced, closely linked to the threat and technology communities and our Joint and Coalition partners and dedicated to examining the future operational environment to provide the Army with a path to the future. To accomplish this, FCC executes these core functions (Concepts, Experimentation, Requirements, and Integration), ensuring the Army can establish a modernization path to the Army needed 5 to 15 years into the future that can defeat all threats in the Future Operational Environment. #MavenScouts #USArmy #FutureConcepts

After neglecting electronic warfare for a long time, the U.S Army is now focusing on gaining dominance over the electromagnetic spectrum. The U.S Army and its contractor CACI International Inc owned Mastodon Design reported that they successfully tested a portable jammer that soldiers can carry on their backs and use to interfere with electronic signals on the go. The TLS-BCT Manpack is designed to give soldiers a mobile way of jamming and gathering signals intelligence. It is a smaller, portable version of the TLS-BCT, which will be mounted on Stryker and Armored Multi-Purpose vehicles, and the larger TLS-Echelons Above Brigade, which will be used by corps and divisions. A key factor of the backpack version is its physical burden: size, weight and power, commonly known as SWaP. As per our analysis such a portable jammer has several advantages. It can: ❏ Provide protection and concealment for soldiers in the field by disrupting the enemy’s situational awareness and command and control ❏ Enable offensive operations by creating windows of opportunity for attacks or infiltration by jamming the enemy’s sensors and defenses. ❏ Enhance mobility and flexibility for soldiers by allowing them to carry the jammer on their backs and use it on the move. ❏ Reduce the dependency on vehicle-mounted or fixed-site jammers, which may be limited by terrain, distance, or availability. #soldiers #army #jammer #technology #communication #military #electronicwarfare #intelligence (Representative image)
