I’m proud to say that yesterday I was elected as a Member of the Legislative Yuan representing Chiayi’s 2nd Electoral District! To everyone who voted, thank you for supporting our democracy! I look forward to working hard for all of us in Chiayi! I have learned a lot while campaigning in the community and I’m excited to bring this knowledge to the LY, connecting Taipei to our constituency! Absolutely humbled to have the support of the people of Chiayi county, and I’m excited to take this energy to work representing our community! Thank you #嘉義 🙏 Let’s go, Taiwan!

Thank you to all the friends who participated in my election rally today. Together we can win, together we can protect Taiwan's sovereignty and safeguard a confident, autonomous, and free way of life in Taiwan!

Honored and excited to have the support of President Tsai during this consequential campaign. With the support of the people of Chiayi, we can continue to work locally, connecting Taiwan to international partners, for the good of both our community and the globe!

I would like to thank President Tsai Ing-wen for coming to Minsyong Township in Chaiyi today to endorse me. President Tsai expressed that these days, central and local governments have worked together to develop key technology industries, and will provide Chiayi with the next generation of important industries. She hopes that I will continue to speak out for local governments at the central level in the future. I am also very honored that my Japanese language skills and international experiences received praise from President Tsai. In President Tsai’s seven years of leadership, Taiwan’s international status and economic strength has gradually improved. Especially at a time of global turmoil and regional tensions, Taiwan has defended the values and importance of democracy and freedom, demonstrated its commitment to pursuing peace, deepened cooperation with other countries, and has developed prosperous and stable trade relations within the transnational economy.  These achievements are not easy to come by and must not only be cherished but also be properly maintained and passed down. Managing domestic issues requires an experienced team that can handle complex and ever-changing diplomatic situations and requires calm and responsible leaders. Thus, the Presidential candidate Lai Ching-te and Vice Presidential candidate Bi-khim Hsiao are the most suitable combination to lead Taiwan. I also believe that this is among one of the values that President Tsai Ing-Wen conveyed to the folks at Baoan Palace today. The changes in Chiayi over the past 20 years are evident to all. Today is an official groundbreaking day for the Minsyong Aerospace Park of the National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology. Chiayi has gradually evolved into a major agricultural and industrial county and in the future will be upgraded into a major science and technological county becoming one of the most integral industrial centers in Taiwan. I will continue striving to bring Chiayi in line with international standards and move Chiayi forward!

In an article co-written by me and Dr. Sang, we discussed #Taiwan’s protective measures against the continuous threats posed by #China’s military through its utilization of #drone production growth and the expansion of national defense programs. An example of such a measure is located in #Chiayi County, with the establishment of a drone research and development center, aiding in the advancements of Taiwan’s ability to ward off any invasions through a system of heavy coordination by being able to share data gathered by reconnaissance drones in real-time, resulting in fast-acting, appropriate responses. However, for Taiwan to ensure its longevity and strong defense against China’s advanced technological military, assistance and strengthened ties with countries, such as #Israel, #Turkey, and the #USA, heading the progress of not only military drones, but also drones carrying capabilities in agriculture and emergency aid, is needed to turn Taiwan into a “porcupine”, a country invulnerable and readily responsive towards assault.

Chiayi X California Bears The UCLA Bruins Marching Band arrives at Chiayi! Special thanks to the General Association of Chinese Culture for arranging this, and for having our American friends taste our famous pineapple cake. Together with the County Magistrate, Weng Chang-Liang, we visited the Xingang Fengtian Temple to pray for Mazu’s peace and blessing. Most notably, the people of Chiayi did not have to travel abroad to appreciate the wonderful performances of the well-known American university UCLA marching band and our Zhuqi High School band! Through music and cultural exchange, the relationship between the US and Taiwan has grown closer. This kind of direct and resonant citizen diplomacy is the most optimal way to approach global friendships. In the future I will continue to deepen Chiayi’s connection to the rest of the world and bring more international resources to Chiayi! It was a pleasure chatting with UCLA Vice President Gordon and the Dean. They mentioned they are good friends with the headmaster of my alma mater, Jennifer. 今天，我在大林提出我的四大 #產業政策，期盼透過跨產業合作、引進創新技術和政策來找到適合嘉義縣發展的道路。 感謝大林鎮長許有疆、江志明議員，和黃啟豪議員兼主持人，以及大林、民雄的村里長、代表和其他的好朋友們特別前來支持冠廷，現場人滿滿的，看了非常感動！❤️ 首先，我將推動「 #大埔美園區爭取三期👌」自設立以來，大埔美為我們山區經濟活動帶來很大的貢獻。接下來我們要為未來智慧科技產業的發展做準備，讓大埔美更好。我認為，未來應該要爭取的三期開發往智慧製造的方向發展，提高就業人口進駐，讓三期園區結合生產、生活，變得更具未來性。我也會積極爭取國科會將大埔美園區納入嘉義科學園區，建構嘉義山海科學園區的產業發展核心。 第二，我會推動「 #民雄航太科技創新✈️」計畫的翻新。在二十一世紀的科技浪潮下，無人機技術不僅在商業領域發光發熱，更在軍事與公務領域呈現出巨大的潛力和需求。 過去在各位前輩、先進的努力下，嘉義無人機產業的發展實際上已經具備了堅實的基礎。我們擁有亞洲無人機研發中心，中科院民雄航太院區與無人機航太產業園區，這些專業單位的進駐也為嘉義帶來了最先進的技術與資源，讓嘉義在無人機領域具有無可取代的地位。我也會持續向國防部、經濟部爭取更多資源，進一步帶動我們嘉義在地的無人機產業發展。 第三，我主張「 #傳統園區環境翻新⚙️」，民雄及頭橋工業區自設置以來已超過50年了。隨著經濟發展和環保議題的轉變，我認為應該要投入資源協助這些傳統工業區升級設備。 我會要求經濟部工業局投入資源，改善工業區內的公共設施品質。如促進人車分流，釋出道路轉角空間轉換為街角廣場，營造友善的人本空間。這樣做，我們傳統工業區的就業與生活品質才可以提昇，獲得新的風貌和更好的發展。 第四，推動「 #觀光工廠產業體驗🎠」是我的第四個願景。近幾年，嘉義縣有許多新興產業進駐，除製造生產之外，也導入製造及服務複合的經營型態，將生產工廠與產業觀光結合成觀光工廠。 工業結合商業是未來發展的趨勢，也是我認為應該努力讓嘉義繼續保持的優勢之一。我會要求經濟部依「觀光工廠輔導評鑑作業要點」擴大輔導、媒體廣宣、結合體驗活動與整合行銷，推動嘉義的產業發展。 —— 隨著台灣整體的經濟轉型，嘉義縣也面臨產業升級的壓力，如何透過跨產業合作、引進創新技術和政策，讓嘉義縣找到適合自身發展的道路，這是嘉義人最關心的問題，也是我陳冠廷最關心的議題。這四項政策，是我對嘉義山區的承諾。 我相信，透過中央地方、行政立法的共同努力，我所提出的願景將能夠帶動嘉義縣產業的發展，成為一個更加繁榮、更加美好的地方，讓我們一起開拓一個嶄新的未來！ #年輕世代開拓新局

Truly glad to meet my Japanese friends Mr. Atsushi Oshima (member of the House of Representative of the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan), Mr. Daisuke Kondo (deputy editor-in-chief of the Weekly Gendai), and Mr. Naoya Tsuchiya (editor-in-chief of SOCRA accompanied legislator Oshima) in person. We have gone through a very fruitful discussion on various topics such as issues on foreign affairs and industrial policies. Many thanks to them for making this special trip to Chiayi. Taiwan is at the frontline of the global defense against China's military threat. Many countries, including Japan, are all eager to know how Taiwan develops its strength in the face of the foreign pressure from China. Thus, I am truly glad that I can introduce Taiwan’s soft power to our Japanese friends and to elaborate the potential of Taiwan. I also share my experience of bringing Japanese companies such as JR East, the President of Laoye Hotel and fellow staff members, and members of the Shizuoka Railway Company to visit Alishan, Meishan Coffee Garden, and Minxiong Pineapple Fields in Chiayi. Mr. Oshima also reveals a strong interest in the cooperation of technology. I thus invite him to visit our Asia UAV AI Innovation Application R&D Center and Minxiong Aerospace Park in the near future. Hopefully, more people will get to know Chiayi-our dazzling pearl in southern Taiwan.

Thank you, Vice President Lai, for your support for my mission of making Chiayi more sustainable, inclusive, and international. One of the biggest developmental challenges in Taiwan is the disparity between the North and the South of the country—many resources are easier to access by denizens of the capital and its surroundings. My mission in the Legislative Yuan will be to close this gap.
