Last week, Dr. Aprille Ericsson, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Science and Technology, met with Dr. Keoki Jackson, senior vice president and general manager at MITRE National Security, to discuss the JASON program as well as Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDCs). MITRE operates both JASON, and FFRDCs. JASON is a not-for-profit group that advises the Department of Defense on science and technology development, while FFRDCs supports the DoD with long-term engineering, research, development, or other analytic needs that cannot be met as effectively by government or other private-sector resources. The two will continue to discuss S&T development and priorities to ensure technology advancement and innovation in support of the department’s short- and long-term national security goals.
