Just published: New OpEd I wrote for TIME! Focuses on barriers to reduce enteric #methane. We have an amazing opportunity to leverage significant investment to innovate for beef and dairy cattle industries. We must be strategic to address major gaps in science. Academia must work with industry. This is also a call to ramp up university #research infrastructure to meet projected demand. We have zero time to waste and farmers across the world can benefit. https://lnkd.in/dsauySN2

Does the calculations take in consideration all the carbon a cow consumes and converts to fertilizer? Also the carbon she offset by consuming byproducts and converting them to food and the total nutritional value of that in comparison to alternatives like putting byproducts on landfills and the emissions that will create. Or are we looking at a very small portion of the picture and then drawing conclusions. Sometimes the cure can be much worse then the problem.
