📣An InSight Crime report recently shared that #Caribbean nations have called for a US gun crackdown as murder rates soar in the Caribbean nations. 📣#Firearms manufactured in the #USA continue to be a primary source of #weapons for #gangs in the #Caribbean. Many heads of caribbean governments are demanding that the USA do more to manage arms trafficking from their country. 📣Weapons made in the USA have been flooding into the #LatinAmerican and Caribbean region for quite some time now. For example it has been reported in various forums that over 2.5 million guns have been smuggled from the United States to #Mexico in the last decade. Article here: https://lnkd.in/enf83Z5r 🤔Is it the responsibility of the gun company to ensure that the firearms do not end up in the hands of the wrong end user in this case - gangs, straw purchasers? 🤔Do you think lobbying the government of the countries where the arms are manufactured is one of or the viable solution? 🤔I'm interested in what your thoughts are and what else came to your mind from the info from the article. #linkedintt #transnationalorganizedcrime #transnationalcrime #policing #trafficking #borders Photo: InSight Crime
